Reject President Bush's Anti-Choice Nominee, Robert Conrad

Do you remember Richard Honaker? He was President Bush's pick for a lifetime appointment to a federal district court who tried to outlaw abortion three times in Wyoming. Now, Bush is at it again! This time, he and his allies in the Senate are pushing for a new anti-choice nominee as judge on the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals: Robert Conrad. Robert Conrad has called Planned Parenthood a "radical, pro-abortion fringe group" that "promotes a radical abortion agenda." What's more, from 1983 to 1986, Conrad served on the board of directors for a so-called "crisis pregnancy center" that provided medically inaccurate information about pregnancy, contraception and abortion. Clearly, he isn't fair-minded – and he doesn't deserves a lifetime appointment as a federal judge! Urge your senators to reject the nomination of Robert Conrad today.

I, thanks to my mother, survived attempted abortion. Here I want to speak of the difference between morality and ethics. For myself morality applies to myself. For the world at large morality isn't at stake, ethics are. We must differeintiate the two. In my case abortion was the wrong choice. However that is personal/moral. For the populace abortion is an ethical decision. I do not believe I have the right to say to a potential mother that abortion is right or wrong. Why? Because it is a personal choice of no undue gravity. Choice, and democracy are essential to freedom. If we Amricans are to call ourselves free then it follows that people must be given the freedom of choice, regaurdless of individual bias on the part of our representives and personal experience. R v. W has beenn oft challenged but never defeated. Why? Becuase our nation is a nation that taughts "liberty" then we must resoect "Liberty." Freedom of choice is liberty.
