Reject President Bush's Anti-Choice Nominee, Robert Conrad

Target: U.S. Senate
Sponsored by: NARAL Pro-Choice America
Do you remember Richard Honaker? He was President Bush's pick for a lifetime appointment to a federal district court who tried to outlaw abortion three times in Wyoming. Now, Bush is at it again! This time, he and his allies in the Senate are pushing for a new anti-choice nominee as judge on the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals: Robert Conrad. Robert Conrad has called Planned Parenthood a "radical, pro-abortion fringe group" that "promotes a radical abortion agenda." What's more, from 1983 to 1986, Conrad served on the board of directors for a so-called "crisis pregnancy center" that provided medically inaccurate information about pregnancy, contraception and abortion. Clearly, he isn't fair-minded – and he doesn't deserves a lifetime appointment as a federal judge! Urge your senators to reject the nomination of Robert Conrad today.

Dear Senator [Name],

As your constituent, I urge you to reject Robert Conrad, President Bush's nominee to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Conrad has a clear anti-choice record. In 1988, Conrad wrote an op-ed piece for The Charlotte Observer in which he labeled Planned Parenthood a "radical, pro-abortion fringe group" that "promotes a radical abortion agenda."

From 1983 to 1986, Conrad served on the board of directors for the Charlottesville Pregnancy Center, an organization seemingly modeled as a so-called "crisis pregnancy center" (CPC). Many CPCs intentionally misinform and mislead women who are seeking pregnancy-related assistance by providing medically inaccurate information about pregnancy, contraception, or abortion. In fact, the Charlottesville Pregnancy Center's website includes anti-choice propaganda like, "Remember that abortion doesn't erase a mistake - it only adds new ones."

[Your comment here]

I urge you to carefully review Conrad's record and oppose this nomination should it reach the Senate floor for a vote.

Sincerely,
[Your name]

Awoman should be in charge of her body. Not that I think abortion should be used as a form of birthcontrol. A woman should take charge of her body, to prevent an unwanted pregnancy.

TOTALLY AGREE WITH THIS{1:00 pm PDT, May 3, AGAINST KILLING INNOCENT CHILDREN , Alabama This is the only thing Bush has been right about since day 1. Just because the woman's body is carrying the baby doesn't make that baby's body her right. Only God has the right to take a life. Thou shalt not kill is a commandment. Abortion is killing. How is it NOT. Abortion is WRONG no matter what anyone thinks or says. IT'S WRONG. It is not the woman's right to end a life because it is in her body. If she did not want to or intend to create a child she and her partner have choices to take responsibility for their actions. If they did not, then they are punishing that baby and killing it because she couldn't keep her legs closed? How is that right? The ONLY thing I agree with Bush about is that abortion is wrong. There are prevention ways out there. They should be made more available to people who would like to bother with them and not just mess around and later make an innocent baby die for their irresponsibility. Rape, it's also wrong to take that child's life. Their are so many couples out there that want a child, would love to have a child and could raise that child no matter how or why it was concieved. They could give that child a beautiful life. Instead many couples wait for years for a child while they are constantly being murdered left and right by abortion. Abortion is DEAD WRONG. Adoption is better. Not creating an unwanted child in the first place is best. But if you do, seek a couple who would give that child all the love in the world. Please stop this killing of innocent children. Please don't be pro-choice/pro-killing. It is still a life, a human being, a child, whether it's born or unborn. Please don't kill it. } Bush is the worst president USA ever had, but this is a good thing he's doing FINALLY. Abortion is death and killing children. It's wrong, I'm totally against it.

I truely believe in a woman's right to chose her own reproductive destiny as do men. It's a personal choice, not the government's choice.

Where are you finding these inept crude judicial choices? Don't you have anyone around that has brain cells functioning so that information consumed and rational thought produce prudent policies and decisions?

Yes I know many people dislike abortion. I'm one of them, BUT I'm pro-choice. As American citizens we are told everyday that this is a country that believes in freedom and a humans rights but taking away a womens right to decide whether or not she can have an abortion is wrong. If you decide to do anything just limit the time frame in which they can have it done.
