Reject President Bush's Anti-Choice Nominee, Robert Conrad

Do you remember Richard Honaker? He was President Bush's pick for a lifetime appointment to a federal district court who tried to outlaw abortion three times in Wyoming. Now, Bush is at it again! This time, he and his allies in the Senate are pushing for a new anti-choice nominee as judge on the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals: Robert Conrad. Robert Conrad has called Planned Parenthood a "radical, pro-abortion fringe group" that "promotes a radical abortion agenda." What's more, from 1983 to 1986, Conrad served on the board of directors for a so-called "crisis pregnancy center" that provided medically inaccurate information about pregnancy, contraception and abortion. Clearly, he isn't fair-minded – and he doesn't deserves a lifetime appointment as a federal judge! Urge your senators to reject the nomination of Robert Conrad today.

It is 2008, and the notion that we should have our most basic "freedom" of choice regarding our own bodies and entire lives be decided by anyone else's religious beliefs is beyond my understanding. I would support more education and supplimentation of things that would help women and men avoid the traumatizing choice of abortion. Besides our lives being in our own hands, our planet is in crisis from billions more people than we can feed and care for properly. Thousands die each day from lack of basic needs being met. And many individuals lack the skill, desire, and committment to provide adequate child care and parenting. Child abuse and neglect is rampant in our country. Educate dont legislate.

As an industrialized nation we have the highest rate of teenage pregnancy in the world. The mis-information and anti-choice stance of Robert Conrad directly contributes to this problem. Women deserve much better than this uncompassionate and misinformed man.
