Say No to President Bush's Extreme Federal Judicial Nominee

Target: U.S. Senate
Sponsored by: NARAL Pro-Choice America
Richard Honaker, a former Wyoming state representative, is President Bush's pick for a lifetime appointment as a federal judge. Honaker is one of Bush's most anti-choice nominees to date. He has spent his career fighting to deny women access to safe, legal reproductive-health services. And now Bush has nominated him for a lifetime appointment as a federal judge.

At this pivotal time in history, it's so important that an open and fair-minded federal judge be appointed - not someone bent on interfering with women's personal choices. Send your message telling the Senate that Bush's anti-choice nominee, Richard Honaker, is too extreme for the federal bench!

Dear Senator [Name],

As a constituent, I am writing to voice my strong opposition to the nomination of Richard Honaker to the U.S. District Court for the District of Wyoming.

Honaker has spent his career fighting to deny women access to safe, legal reproductive-health services. He publicly and actively opposes abortion, saying it is "wrong, and no one should have the right to do what is wrong," and tried three times to ban abortion in Wyoming.

By nominating Richard Honaker to a lifetime judgeship, President Bush has shown yet again that he is totally out of step with the views of mainstream America. Honaker led the push for a ballot measure to ban abortion, which Wyoming voters resoundingly rejected. Now I urge you to do the same with this nomination.
We signed the “Say No to President Bush's Extreme Federal Judicial Nominee” petition!

A woman has every right to make a choice, and NO MAN can tell her how to make her decision unless they have been put in the type of situation that calls for it....and to the best of my knowledge...MEN CANT GET PREGNANT, therefore, they should NOT be allowed to tell us HOW to make decisions for us!!

Say to to such extreme ignorance. I say no to Bush's support of Honaker! Such means of birth control are safe and effective, and without them there is a rise is poverty because the parents must work much harder to support their children, who are raised in a much more difficult world.

most women are smart enough to make their own choices and we should have that right.women have always been treated unfairly.we are lucky in the U.S and arent treated to badly but we still get treated differently then men.if this person is chosen then we will be treated even more unfairly.

If most women are intelligent enough to make their own choices Then why do they have unprotected sex. Use protection or have yourself fixed or stop having SEX. I don't want my Tax money to pay for abortion.

I support adoption options inside a woman's right to choose. Moving away from our current law only creates unsafe options.

Because women are intelligent enough to make their own choices. The government should not have the right to step in and force any woman to have a child she does not want to have.
