Don't Deny Insurance Coverage for Pre-Existing Conditions
Target:Presidential Candidates Sponsored by:Families USA
Currently many health insurance companies operate in a wild wild west of little or no rules or regulation - unfettered to cherry pick the healthiest and to deny coverage to those who need it the most.
How do insurance companies do this? They look for "pre-existing conditions" - then they can legally deny someone coverage because they have an imperfect bill of health. Insurers might also charge these individuals much higher premiums for their coverage.
Health insurance shouldn't be reserved only for the healthiest among us.
Make sure John McCain and Barack Obama get this message, and tell them they must include everyone in their plans for quality, affordable health care!
We signed the “Don't Deny Insurance Coverage for Pre-Existing Conditions” petition!

I think our government just forgot all about the citizens who have been in these US for generations. Why is it so hard the Heads of States, and other government officials to get these issues solved. I guess they're letting us know who is more important. It certainly isn't the people so that leaves the Ins. Co.

How about you give up your health care coverage until this deal all gets settled? Of course that also means that you will have the very same coverage that I will get.

Mr. McCain previously, I had all the respect in the world for you. And I'm, (much to my mother's side of the family's sorrow and regret), a registered Democrat. In spite of that I would have gladly voted for the man I saw in 2000 and again in 2004. But the John McCain I see today, well how do I put this...Just beacuse W. would have liked a son as well, does not mean you are the man for the job.
You might be asking yourself; O.K. so what has this got to do with me? I became seriously disabled in 1995 and with all the changes that insurance companies have been allowed to make; Medicare is about the only insurance I can get, let alone what I can afford. I have gotten myself back to where I could go back to work at least part-time but I cannot afford to lose Medicare. I figured it out once, I need to make at least $5400.00 a month just pay for medicine, office calls, P.T. and all those tests. So by any chance do you know any place I can get a part-time job that pays like that? Perferably where I can work from home? I do hold a BBA with some Graduate Work as well. I'm a hard worker, after all I went from quadrapligic to semi-ambulatory in three years; after I was told I was not going to walk again. If not, then you had better start rethinking your position on affordable health care for every one. After all, the citizens of the U.S. all get to pay for your health care plan!!

This is very personal, as I was denied affordable healthcare because I had a sore shoulder and was overweight, even though I was paying for Feldenkrais for my shoulder out of pocket, and have been in excellent health.

My entire family has been denied medical coverage for generations due to a genetic degenerative bone disease we all have: Osteogenesis Imperfecta. It would be nice to have peace of mind to be covered by a policy that would actually be helpfull and preventative instead of being forced to use state medical coverage plans that offer the least possible, often change what prescriptions we can use, and don't pay for what we need WHEN we need it.

It's a pathetic shame that the greatest country in the world should have such a piss-poor system of health care. Do something!!!

Insurance companies should not deny people with pre-existing conditions the coverage they need.

As a world superpower, the U.S. should be ashamed that it can maintain over a thousand military bases overseas but it cannot ensure that its citizens receive adequate health care. Since the Insurance Industry is beholden to its shareholders, not to its customers, it is imperative that our government restructures its priorities to meet the needs of its citizens and not that of the corporations nor the military industrial complex of the warhawks.

I just watched the film "Sicko" and I was outraged and ashamed of this country's health care policy. For this country to deny our citizens decent health care (or any health care in many cases) is shameful.
