Officials in the Bush/Cheney Administration are moving forward with plans to allow wolves to be killed in Idaho and Wyoming even before the animals are removed from the list of federally protected endangered and threatened species.

I'm sorry. What is the reason for slaughtering a species that is listed as endangered? Why was so much money poured into salvaging wolves, if so much money is poured into slaughtering them? Can't this money be put to education, health care, and protecting endangered resources to far better effect?

Wolves are beautiful creatures along with all wildlife in America. There is no reason to outright kill this beast when it is merely trying to survive. There is no victory in this situation, just public disapproval and the guilt of knowing you eliminated the wolf's chance for survival.

Don't give in to the cattle/big meat contingent. Wolves only eat cattle as a last resort. The totally number of cattle lost to wolves is very small and there was a fund in the past to compensate for economic loss.
