Protect Wolves in the Northern Rockies

Dear Secretary Kempthorne,

As a supporter of Defenders of Wildlife and someone who takes great pride in the successful reintroduction of wolves to the Northern Rockies and Greater Yellowstone Region, I am deeply concerned with your agency's actions to eliminate vital protections for this still-recovering population.

In particular, I am disturbed by your agency's support of rule changes that would allow wolves to be killed in Idaho and Wyoming even before these animals are removed from the list of federally protected threatened and endangered species.

I am also concerned with your agency's support for de-listing of gray wolves. Officials in Idaho and Wyoming have made clear that they intend to "manage" wolves at the lowest level permitted by law, a policy that will likely result in the removal of two-thirds of the wolves in Wyoming and all but approximately 100 wolves in Idaho.

Your agency is charged with protecting America's natural treasures and is accountable to the tens of thousands of people in the Northern Rockies and across the country who have spoken out against the proposal to de-list wolves. I sincerely hope that you will remember these facts as you consider your agency's responsibility to America's future generations.

Thank you for considering my comments.

Sincerely,

I cant believe they would do this! They have no right to be killing off endangered species, especially since it was human kind that are cutting off their existence. Now I'm HAPPY freaking Bush is not going to be president anymore.Cheney goes down with him!SAVE THE WOLVES

When will humans see sense? We are the only creature on earth to kill for pleasure! Every other creature either kills to eat or kill out of instinct. Wolves are special, and deserve life! They prevent overpopulation of deer and also keep herds healthy by eating the old, weak, and sick. In Yellowstone, aspens started returning after wolves were reintroduced. Many creatures also started thriving. And don't forget many people enjoy seeing the amazing wolf! Do you want future generations to not know anything about this majestic creature because they don't exist? So don't let them die! We humans can learn much from the wolf.

Wow, Mr. Bush. You're just out to kill anything and everything that you can get your hands on. I'll bet you feel like a pretty big man now. Thank God you're going to be knocked out of office in a few months. I think you were the biggest mistake the United States ever made.

Gee, what a surprise that both cheney and bush would do this. It's amazing Cheney could see what he wants planned to do since he mistook his friend for a lost deer and shot him. If this goes through who's to stop the slaughter of all the wolves in those areas then where will people look to stop the increase in the creatures population that the wolves eat.

I will not be sad to see Bush leave the administration. He's a disgrace and disgusting individual with no compassion for our wildlife or our own American citizens. I hope he rots in hell.

Maybe we ought to throw Bush and Cheney (Duck) and the rest of that loony administration in out in the wilds of Wyoming and Idaho, and see how they feel being hunted down like those wolves, not that it would not be a bad idea along with a lot of Republicans from the House and Senate, this administration is scum and I am all for protecting those animals they have as much right to live in the wild as we have to live were ever we as humans want to live period!
