Send in your public comment to support listing polar bears as a "Threatened" species!
Polar bears really need our help: according to government studies in recent months, more and more are starving to death, and more and more of their babies are dying before reaching adulthood. In fact, of polar bears studied between 1990 and last spring, only 25 cubs per 100 females survived. That's less than half the survival rate of polar bear cubs studied from 1967 to 1989!
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is requesting public comments regarding the listing of polar bears as a "Threatened" species. In just 5 minutes, you can send in your public comment - just sign this petition.
We signed the “Support Proposal to List Polar Bears As "Threatened"” petition!

The threats polar bears face are monumental, and it will take decisive government action to help save them. This is why a "threatened" status is so important. With a "threatened" status, the government will finally be forced to do more to protect polar bears dying at alarming rates.

Scientists point to the polar regions as those which will change most rapidly due to global warming. It is these areas which must be protected immediately. Please protect these beautiful wonderful bears.

Obviously steps need to be taken- protections put in place. And if you don't raise your voice about global warming, no one will hear you!

What the environment is now facing is a definite cause of our careless consumption.
The alarming reports of species going into extreme survival mode would seem to suggest that somethings gotta give. I really am hoping that those of you in a position of power would use that to the advantage of the crisis that so many species face. Even if you are able to forget that humans are animals too and that there is a connection as organisms living on this planet, your children and the following generations will be suffering from the lack of effort and communication that is prevalent right now. We've got to work on preserving what we have for others, not on what big money or the media tells you to buy. An area as pristine as the poles need to be kept unspoilt..there are delicate ecosystems that would be thriving were it not for the insane call for oil that companies pound into the heads of consumerists. We have other options and it is time to use the intelligence to evolve.

Please acknowledge the truth that polar bears are, in fact, endangered. Also, let's address the root cause, which is global warming due to human practices.
