Stop the Silent War on Contraception

Target: Hillary Clinton, Senator
Sponsored by: Friends of Hillary Clinton
There's a quiet war going on in America – against the most basic rights of Americans, especially women, to make their own personal decisions about family planning.

It was started by a small group of extreme ideologues who claim the right to impose their personal beliefs on the overwhelming majority of the American people.

They're waging this silent war on contraception by using the power of the White House and their right-wing allies in Congress -- and so far, they're getting away with it.

The United States has one of the highest rates of unintended pregnancies in the industrialized world. And the impact of the war on contraception is borne by the poor: a poor woman is four times as likely to experience an unplanned pregnancy as a higher-income woman.

That's why Senator Hillary Clinton and Congresswoman Nita Lowey have introduced a Congressional Resolution to Strengthen Family Planning Services for Women - and they need your voice to make sure every member of Congress votes on this Resolution. Become a co-sponsor today and help us pass this important resolution to ensure women have access to contraceptives! Senator Clinton will forward your message to your Congressional representatives.

Hillary, you can add my voice to all the women and men who are supporting your defense of women's rights. And you can tell the Congress that I applaud your Resolution to Strengthen Family Planning Services for Women.

I'm troubled by the growing attacks on women's privacy and reproductive rights. And it's disturbing that women of low-income are being targeted, leaving many of them uninformed about their reproductive health options and unable to obtain affordable contraceptives.

This is really a war on contraception, and those who started it are increasing unwanted pregnancies and abortions in our country. We must stop their attacks on our ability to make our own decisions about family planning. I urge all Members of Congress to vote for your Resolution and to make it easy for women to obtain contraceptives and an understanding of their proper use.

Contraception is most essential to avoid great misery later, for both, the woman and the child. It is bad enough in the Third World Countries. Sure enough religious beliefs come into it as well, but one should not generalize these things. Nothing seems to be as it once was, so contraception is a protection for the woman and the future child.

Good idea. I know that EVERYONE is against this these days, but I am not. It is the womans choice, and alot of people say, no matter what, it's wrong. That's wrong in itself.

This is a right every woman deserves. Giving every woman the choice, helps prevent unwanted pregnancies, babies, children. If this problem gets any WORSE it will be a failure as a country.
