There's a quiet war going on in America – against the most basic rights of Americans, especially women, to make their own personal decisions about family planning.
It was started by a small group of extreme ideologues who claim the right to impose their personal beliefs on the overwhelming majority of the American people.
They're waging this silent war on contraception by using the power of the White House and their right-wing allies in Congress -- and so far, they're getting away with it.
The United States has one of the highest rates of unintended pregnancies in the industrialized world. And the impact of the war on contraception is borne by the poor: a poor woman is four times as likely to experience an unplanned pregnancy as a higher-income woman.
That's why Senator Hillary Clinton and Congresswoman Nita Lowey have introduced a Congressional Resolution to Strengthen Family Planning Services for Women - and they need your voice to make sure every member of Congress votes on this Resolution. Become a co-sponsor today and help us pass this important resolution to ensure women have access to contraceptives! Senator Clinton will forward your message to your Congressional representatives.
We signed the “Stop the Silent War on Contraception” petition!

It's my body. It's my responsibility to care for my children. Why should someone be able to tell me what I can do with my own body if I'm not going to be able to take care of a houseful of children? If they want to mess with rights, take away the right to Botox or breast implants.I would rather see lots of wrinkly people instead of unwanted, neglected children.

This is incrediably important for women to preserve their hard earned status of being treated more equally and as a lesser human being. This is an outrage to our right to choose for our health. At a time when over population is controled by war, I should think that prevention is the most logical and economical for our society.

We as women are, and should be in control of our own bodies!

Women are in effect slaves to their bodies and to men if they don't have access to control over their own fertility. Young women, especially, need to know this and be enabled to take charge of their own fertility and sexuality from the earliest age.

More access to contraceptives means less abortions and less unwanted children. Thanks, for going to bat for women on this issue.

there would be alot less unwanted orphaned children in our country with young women having access to birth control. unwanted preganices not only hurt the mother but the child as well. physically and mentally in more ways than one.

It is no ones right to tell a person no they can't have their birth control because he or she as a pharmasist has a different religious belief. Leave your religion at home. It is not your place to decide how someone else should live their life. People in glass houses should not through stones, anyone who claims to be relgious should not be judging others no ifs, ands, or buts. How would you feel if some denied you rights as an Americian? One day it's no to birth control tomorrow it's freedom. Religion has no place in government. What would Jesus really do?
