In the 2000 and 2004 general elections, voters in Florida, Ohio and other states were caught up in electoral debacles that led to major problems on Election Day and voter distrust of our election system today.
And despite all the talk and promises of voting reform and improvements, major election issues remain unaddressed, and voters continue to question the integrity of our elections.
The latest problem is the electronic voting machines which were supposed to be part of the solution. These machines leave NO paper record of our votes! They provide no permanent documentation that could prove that votes are being counted accurately. In the world's greatest democracy - a democracy that in recent years has been plagued by faulty elections that undermine voter trust - this is just unacceptable.

So many people no longer bother to vote, many because they have lost all faith in our voting system. Counting of votes should be done in the public eye, not behind closed doors. Votes are the property of the American citizens, and should remain public. We need to get every citizen involved in the voting process, and reestablish the country that our forefathers built for us. Our Constitution is useless if we fail to take advantage of the inalienable rights that it grants to every one of us. Every time we take our rights for granted, we stab our founding fathers in the back. Take back your country!

It is absurd to think that anyone would create a voting machine that didn't produce a paper receipt, especially since many of the same companies produce ATM machines. Do you think we are all so stupid? Verified voting is the only legitimate vote. Period. I will never vote electronically and will continue to vote absentee until Ohio requires all electronic voting to be verified on paper.
