Keep Foster Children Off the Street
Target: U.S. SenateSponsored by: Covenant House
One in five foster children grow up to be homeless adults. Many of these children are forced to leave their homes due to physical, sexual, and/or emotional abuse, but the state child welfare systems responsible for their well-being lack the tools needed to meet their complex needs.
The Reconnecting Youth to Prevent Homelessness Act attempts to break the vicious cycle that disconnects these children from the help they need. The act supports these young people by: strengthening federal child welfare systems, extending their access to support services, and amending the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program to improve access to benefits.
Every child deserves a chance to succeed no matter where they grow up or who raises them. Urge your senators to support S.2560, the Reconnecting Youth to Prevent Homelessness Act.

Foster Children need to be wanted and loved and safe. The streets do not offer them that. The streets offer them drugs, alcohol, prostitution and danger. The streets encourage behaviour that is not normally pursued, because you have to do anything to survive out there. We must protect our most valuable resource: our children. I became a foster parent to help kids. If you are able, I urge you to do the same.

How can we do anything, but help these children? To continue to throw these children out of the system with no additional assistance is criminal. By doing this we as a nation are setting ourselves up for a dismal future, one where discoveries will never be yielded simply because a child grew up in the system. Help these children, and through helping them you will be helping the United States as a whole.

All childern need the love and teachings, of parents. But most often than not, some don't get that, from their own family. So the foster parent has to stand up and give the child the same love and care, as they would their own blood child. They do not deserve what is handed out to most. They all need a mothers and fathers love, to teach them the wrongs and rights in life....
