Keep Foster Children Off the Street

One in five foster children grow up to be homeless adults. Many of these children are forced to leave their homes due to physical, sexual, and/or emotional abuse, but the state child welfare systems responsible for their well-being lack the tools needed to meet their complex needs.
The Reconnecting Youth to Prevent Homelessness Act attempts to break the vicious cycle that disconnects these children from the help they need. The act supports these young people by: strengthening federal child welfare systems, extending their access to support services, and amending the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program to improve access to benefits.
Every child deserves a chance to succeed no matter where they grow up or who raises them. Urge your senators to support S.2560, the Reconnecting Youth to Prevent Homelessness Act.

I always wanted to be able to afford to adopt a child out of Foster Care & give him/er a home and a college education. We should be doing EVERYTHING for these children!

So here we are again dumping our children out into the streets that first off didn't even get a chance for a decent life in the foster system. The government helps everyone else - put our children on the list never know one of these foster children could end up become President one day.

How is it right to have children spend up to 18 years in a home not their own, and then throw them onto the streets when they age out, with no preparation for life on their own? We treat our pets better than that!

We can not afford to not take care of these young people. We have to help them now so that they can take care of themselves later. We need them to be productice adults. This is an investment in their future and ours. This issue affects us all.
