Keep Foster Children Off the Street
Target: U.S. SenateSponsored by: Covenant House
One in five foster children grow up to be homeless adults. Many of these children are forced to leave their homes due to physical, sexual, and/or emotional abuse, but the state child welfare systems responsible for their well-being lack the tools needed to meet their complex needs.
The Reconnecting Youth to Prevent Homelessness Act attempts to break the vicious cycle that disconnects these children from the help they need. The act supports these young people by: strengthening federal child welfare systems, extending their access to support services, and amending the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program to improve access to benefits.
Every child deserves a chance to succeed no matter where they grow up or who raises them. Urge your senators to support S.2560, the Reconnecting Youth to Prevent Homelessness Act.

We need to do all we can to see these children are loved and giving the chance to succeed in life. They were giving a bad hand from the start, why can't our government have a little compassion and a heart and do more for these children. They deserve a chance just like everyone else. All they need is a little love support and some help . So please will you help?

It is extremely important to help foster children transition to adulthood..They had not choice to be in a foster home, they were put there. What other choice will they have if they are not given the necessary assistance to learn how to have the knowledge and aid to be strong adults..This should not even be in America, but sadly the number of homeless are mostly children and those are just the ones that are "counted" in statistics, there are many, many more that are overlooked and either turn to whatever means to survive or die trying..This is truly sad, help them help themselves, that is not alot to ask in this "rich" country!!!!!!
