Every day millions of animals are born into lives of unspeakable suffering. Every day millions more suffer terrible deaths. All animals should be able to live their lives free from misery. But they struggle in a world that is often indifferent.
The road toward better animal welfare is through cooperation, information and a strong international commitment. Urge the United Nations to adopt a Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare! The declaration would have a real, long-term impact on the welfare of billions of animals worldwide.

If you have ever had an animal companion, you know how special each and every one of them is. It's so heartbreaking to see them suffer and die, because not enough people care. And people who make their suffering into a sport!! How can we say we are the magnificient result of the evolutionary scale, when these despicable people exist and are still allowed to do what they do to innocent helpless animals. PLEASE HELP THEM!!!

As the wealthiest nation in the world, surely we can do a much better job taking care of the animals that our carelessness and irresponsibility has resulted in their suffering, malnutrition and lack of protection. The vast majority of right-thinking people believe that ALL animal cruelty must end. Each Political party should include this subject in their Manifesto so that the impact of public opinion may be felt at least in the voting process.
