Sponsored by: Mama Cash
Throughout history, countless women have planned, organized, lectured, wrote, marched, petitioned, lobbied and broke new ground in every field imaginable.

The lives of women have been changed forever – but there’s still so much more to do for women’s rights around the globe.

The 88 days between Dec. 10 and March 8 - International Human Rights Day and International Women's Day – is a time to make women's rights a special priority. We're already halfway there. Now is the time to Act!

You can contribute to a better world for women and girls! Pledge to do your part during these 88 days and convert your personal power into action and awareness.

Your pledge can be as simple as sharing your opinion on women's rights, or reading an article - or it can be as large as hosting a dinner party in honor of womens' rights, taking part in an event or making a speech.

Make your pledge to make women’s rights a special priority today!

Speaking out, writing letters to Ottawa, doing what I can to change men from being the violent, abusive, and male chauvenist pigs they STILL are. I do understand that there are violent women too, but the question is why? Are they angry at someone from their childhood, or maybe a bad spouse? I use to get told,"you'll never make it with out me", but I did! I use to get told my best friend was more of a woman than I am because she could have baby and I couldn't, meanwhile it was his fault for making me miscarry the only child we would have had, by ramming the butt of his rifle into my stomach.

I always make women's rights a priority - as a feminist. This is an opportunity to focus and become a part of a bigger energy.

For me, equality is vital and you would think it obvious, yet we as women are still the most persecuted of all persons in this world. we face our own racism, sexism, separation and degradation every day that we live. However, though we fight and thank fully can fight for this, in our North American culture (for our simple God given right), I am horrified as I view so many other parts of the world where women can not or face mutilation, prison, unspeakable punishments and death. How unsafe it is for a woman just by that birth right, why would we be treated this way and how is it that this continues into the twenty-first century? What difference will I make in 2008? This is very difficult to answer...for us to make a real difference in this world, we must go out there, at risk to our lives fighting these barbaric millennium old injustices. Only then can we make an impact and I am no so certain that I am ready for this out there. Here, on territory where I am at least protected by laws, I can only raise my voice...but will it be heard?

Acknowledging men have superior provable intellect. Men marry women. Women marry men. (er! mostly.)

in the north part of italy i have to say that the man are thinking the the woman it's equale at the men,in the south of italy i feel really sorry to say that the man are thinking that the woman it's lower than men,and all the afrincan people that think that too...i allso think that everybody should be equal .....becouse a woman can do everything that men do.......maybe even better then them,so why shoul men think that they are above woman??why they have to think a stupid thing like this one??they don't have to have this kind of superiority???if the woman woulden't exist on the face of the earth the men couldn't make kids so the species wouldev died long time ago.....so my advice is to love us and admire the same way they admire and are fans for the male cellebrity and sucsses,in the end we are all equal....

By just letting people know that there's an inequity in women's rights from country to country, and that we need to even things up around the globe.

Stand up and be heard for the basic right to be regarded as a human being. Sex, religion or Nationality have nothing whatsoever to do with the basic human rights that all people should be entitled to.

the few people in power have the most influence on public policy and they have and continue to cause uneven treatment of people based on sex. it is unfair and punishes people for no wrong acts.
