Stop China's Crackdown on Tibet

Target: The United Nations and Olympic Games Officials
Sponsored by: Care2
Violence against protesters, monks and civilians in Tibet is quickly escalating as the deadly crackdown continues.

Only a few months away from the Beijing Summer Olympics, the Chinese government's violent attacks have already caused the death of around 100 people, while hundreds continue to be shot at, beat up and detained by China's security forces.

The atrocities committed to control these protests are a reminder of China's record of human rights abuses. The protests won't undermine the Olympics in China, but the brutal repression and use of force against the people of Tibet will.

We need you to sign this petition to the Olympic Games Officials and the United Nations to make sure help is on the way for the people of Tibet.

Dear Human Rights Commissioner and Olympic Games Officials:

We are outraged by the abuse of power displayed by the Chinese government to suppress the protests in Tibet.

We demand that you urge China to end the crackdown immediately. The protesters grievances should not be addressed through the use of force but with an open and peaceful dialogue. Freedom of expression is a basic human right that should be respected and not punished with violence.

In addition, the UN should visit Tibet as soon as possible to carry out an investigation into the security forces' attacks and make the findings from that investigation public.

We can't remain silent while these abuses are taking place. We urge you to speak up and take urgent steps to end the crackdown and protect the people of Tibet.

Enough is enough. China's action reveals it is still stuck in Mao's day. Boycott the Olympics.

The Tibetan people don't deserve the continued abuses they are receiving. Everyone can learn something from the Dalai Lama's teachings. All the Tibetan people have ever wanted is the right to keep their culture alive, and practice their own traditions.

Please Boycott Olympics, no more China Tours for HELLISH Torture The Chinese Authority (Dictator aka: President of China) is not just persecuting poor Tibet, but also those of the Falun Gong faith. i am not upset with any of you dear people, but at the situation of what the Chinese Dictator is getting away with on HELLISH TORTURE of even many of the Oriental Peoples, including his own! He has been ORDERING this! So CHINA IS DOING THESE TORTURES WORSE THAN ANY ON EARTH! ALL COUNTRIES must PROTEST! The U.N. must PROTEST! The Olympics should be called off if not moved. The CHINESE TORTURE of other Orientals even, is as Bad as the Nazis Doctors & WILL GET WORSE IN OTHER WAYS FOR SURE if we Do NOTHING! ALL COUNTRIES MUST PROTEST, INCLUDING U.S AND ALL YOUR COUNTRIES TOO. China's 'Dictator' is the one that ordered the Organ Harvesting of the peaceful Falun Gong Practitioners in China TOO! the organs are harvested from the practitioners while they are still alive. The practitioners are killed in the course of the organ harvesting operations or immediately thereafter. These live awake organ harvesting operations are cruel HELLISH a form of murder. Just like those animals you saw the Chinese skinning alive. See if you do not find out that the Chinese Dictator (aka:Chinese President?) ordered it, even his own Cabinent Member was practicing Falun Gong too & so nobody but the Dictator wanted to do these to this people either, they are ordered to denounce anything he says to, including any peaceful religion or spirituality he says to, or be the next ones to be killed. The Chinese people are afraid of him and cannot admit or they will be next. ALL COUNTRIES MUST PROTEST CHINA'S LEADERSHIP or WE ARE ALL IN BIG TROUBLE.

I will not support the Olympics if in this country. It would be morally incorrect and a bad example... The Olympics is about unity in sportsmanship, something they are not showing in their own country's practice, therefor we should argue that the olympics be held in China. I don't see how humble people of Tibet, could possibly be treated in such a manner for such a long time, and nothing be done about it. Let's let our money do the talking for us, and not supplement this country w/more american dollars for this event.

Isn't this the same as going into Iraq to "HELP" those people set up their democracy? Why can't we go in and help Tibet set up a democracy? If China is going to show aggression like this, then they do not deserve to have all of that money coming into their country for the Olympics. I agree to boycott the Olympics in Bejing.
