Support the PAW Act - End Alaska's Aerial Hunting Program!

Alaska is truly our nation's last frontier. It is also the last place in the U.S. where a few hunters still use aircraft to chase and kill wolves. They shoot these animals from the air or chase them to exhaustion before landing and shooting them point blank.
As recently as July, state wildlife agency personnel in Alaska staked out a known wolf denning site -- a practice that is illegal under Alaska law -- and, using helicopters, gunned down 14 adult wolves from the air. When they landed, they found the 14 helpless pups in the nearby dens -- just weeks old -- and methodically shot each one in the head. 28 wolves gunned down in all.
Congress passed a law thirty five years ago to put an end to aerial hunting. But Alaska is exploiting a loophole in federal law to resume the practice, not only for wolves, but bears as well. Hundreds of scientists have condemned what Alaska is doing, even as other states threaten to follow Alaska's lead. It's time to stop aerial hunting once and for all.
Rep. George Miller (CA) has introduced the Protect America's Wildlife (PAW) Act, legislation to close a federal loophole and curb Alaska's brutal aerial hunting program -- and prevent programs like it from spreading to places like the Greater Yellowstone region.

Please stop the senseless shooting of wolves. They are beautiful creatures that deserve to live. Please help! Thanks!!
Hunting from planes is not hunting but annihilation. Reminds me of the buffalo hunting from trains in early American History. It needs to be stopped or say goodbye to the wolves.
The Federal Courts have already ruled that aerial hunting is illegal but since the Republicans feel they are above the law the Governor of Alaska did an end run around the court and re-instated the practice. There is also no excuse for a person to go aerial hunting other than a sadistic, cruel and mean streak. It is not justifiable or sportsman like to run an animal of any kind to the ground with an airplane and then step out and shoot it when it can no longer defend itself. Wolves are wonderful beautiful family oriented animals. All members of the pack raise, feed, take care of and baby-sit the young pups. Wolves suffer for the loss of a partner; suffer for the loss of their pack members, and for the loss of their pups. They experience the same physical and emotional pain that we, humans, do. There is no reason to hunt them to the brink of extinction which has been done on varies occasion. Each time this has been done humans have had to go back and protect them as we realize just how vital they are to the food chain as well as to the ecological chain.
This is a sick, inhumane practice. Incredible that this is permitted at all. It needs to be STOPPED ! !
It is wrong and immoral to let people find loopholes to gun down wolves, especially by way of aerial gunning. Do something about this and stop this horrific habit!
Wolves are needed just as much as we humans are, maybe more then humans. Stop this now.
Please stop the slaughter from the sky!!!! We need a balanced eco system. Stop killing every creature on this planet
Shooting these creatures from above is inhumane and is what I would consider torture. Please stop this senseless killing.
