Alaska is truly our nation's last frontier. It is also the last place in the U.S. where a few hunters still use aircraft to chase and kill wolves. They shoot these animals from the air or chase them to exhaustion before landing and shooting them point blank.
Congress passed a law thirty five years ago to put an end to aerial hunting. But Alaska is exploiting a loophole in federal law to resume the practice, not only for wolves, but bears as well. Hundreds of scientists have condemned what Alaska is doing, even as other states threaten to follow Alaska's lead. It's time to stop aerial hunting once and for all.
Rep. George Miller (CA) has introduced the Protect America's Wildlife (PAW) Act, legislation to close a federal loophole and curb Alaska's brutal aerial hunting program -- and prevent programs like it from spreading to places like the Greater Yellowstone region.

Dear Congress, Wolves to me have been one of my favorite animals since I've been a little girl. I used to be in a program where you can adopt a wolf for a small price, unfortunately the wolf i had got hunted down. It made me REALLY sad when i found out. So the hunting of wolves shouldnt be done for the simple reason: ITS WRONG!! how could you do hunt an animal so beautiful in nature? If we could get one person to stop then just maybe we could get more to stop and preserve more of these beautiful creatures in the wild.

I also understand that officials in Wyoming and Idaho are considering the use of aerial hunting of wolves by federal and state agencies. That is why I am asking you to sign on as a cosponsor to H.R. 3663 to protect America's wildlife. Alaskans have twice voted to stop this policy, but the state govenment continues to allow wolves to be shot from the skies. Please put an end to this savage policy and prevent it from spreading to the Greater Yellowstone region. Thank you for considering my comments. I for one am asking that this senseless killing of wolves and other animals stops. I feel that the wolf is a very beautiful animal and I am not into destroying beauty of any sort. I hope and pray that these killings will stop and I am offering any help that I can to ensure that the natural beauty of our animals will be saved and preserved for all eternity.
