Alaska is truly our nation's last frontier. It is also the last place in the U.S. where a few hunters still use aircraft to chase and kill wolves. They shoot these animals from the air or chase them to exhaustion before landing and shooting them point blank.
Congress passed a law thirty five years ago to put an end to aerial hunting. But Alaska is exploiting a loophole in federal law to resume the practice, not only for wolves, but bears as well. Hundreds of scientists have condemned what Alaska is doing, even as other states threaten to follow Alaska's lead. It's time to stop aerial hunting once and for all.
Rep. George Miller (CA) has introduced the Protect America's Wildlife (PAW) Act, legislation to close a federal loophole and curb Alaska's brutal aerial hunting program -- and prevent programs like it from spreading to places like the Greater Yellowstone region.

There must be policy in place to proptect the animals native to each country. Aerial shooting is not accurate, does not provide a 'clean kil' as the Australians have proven with their aerial shooting of brumbies, a % of the animala were found up to 5 days laters, still slowing dying. It is not humane and an embarrassment to civilised people.

Dear members of Congress, You can't imagine how upset my three children are about this. Wolves maintain nature's balance, and prevent other wildlife populations (like deer) from growing out of control. We are mandated by the Bible to be good stewards of God's creation. Shooting wolves and helpless pups in the head is NOT good stewardship on ANY level. All you members who believe life is so precious and are supporting these kinds of evil practices should be ashamed of yourselves. You either respect ALL life, or you don't. God did not tell us we could pick and choose about what (and who) gets to live. If He created it, we are supposed to cherish, respect, and protect it. There are no loopholes in God's teaching.

I had no idea this was happening, and was appalled to hear it. Wolves are one of the few pieces of wildlife the United States carries, and yet we're trying to eradicate them like some kind of parasite. The fact that some people can be selfish enough to believe humans are the only creatures that deserve to live, makes me sick to my stomach. I hope that something can be done to stop this unjust extermination.
