Don't Forget Hurricane Katrina and Rita Victims!

Target: 2008 Presidential Candidates
Sponsored by: Oxfam America
Two years after the devastation brought on by Hurricane Katrina and Rita, the Gulf Coast is still hurting. Tens of thousands still live in temporary housing. Schools are closed. Businesses are struggling.

Continued neglect threatens to leave people poor and more at risk. With politicians are suffering from "Katrina amnesia," the current presidential candidates have a renewed chance to bring the Gulf Coast the help it needs.

Let's make sure the new leadership in the White House recognizes that, even though the issue isn't on the front pages anymore, the recovery is NOT over.

Rebuilding plans must be outlined  for  the southern states - before the next election.

Join us in asking the 2008 presidential candidates to issue their agenda outlining how, as president, they will recover the hurricane-devastated region!

deadline: 7-10-2008

Help your Citizens, mis-named refugees! These are citizens of the US, that have been here, long before Europeans descended in New York! What does one have to do to receive help?

For the money that has been raised and the people that have put their blood, sweat, tears, and lives into helping Katrina victims, there should be more results. They are our people! Instead we waste time with mass murder over in Iraq sending our men and women to "help" our country. Help our country by helping New Orleans!

they should at least make the effort to discuss the issues facing the people attempting to rebuild, that alone would help.

It is sad when our own National Guard is off killing innocent Iraquis. and people are still struggling to rebuild their lives in post Katrina. Where did all the Red Cross money raised go? To Ice?

It is morally reprehensible that we can spend BILLIONS of dollars to kill people but we can't spend a few million dollars to help rebuild the areas devastated by hurricane Katrina!

I think that the candidates should address both Katrina and Rita and the deplorable condition FEMA is in.
