Tell Congress: Honor our Commitments to UN Peacekeeping!

UN peacekeeping shares the burden of maintaining international peace and security for a fraction of what it would cost the U.S. to do so, while keeping American troops out of harm's way.
But the United States is failing to pay its fair share of UN peacekeeping even though we vote for every mission! The President's budget request this year shortchanges UN peacekeeping by $500 million.
Considering the U.S. has already accumulated $500 million in prior unpaid bills to UN peacekeeping alone, the United States could owe more than $1 billion to the United Nations by the end of 2007 a small fraction of the $168 BILLION that will be spent on wars in Iraq and Afghanistan this year!

Hey, fine, honor our commitments to the UN with respect to paying our "fair" share of the "peace" keeping efforts/forces. But before doing so please inform Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid how I personally detest them and the ground upon which they tread and the air they breathe. These two in-particular traitors to this nation, it's Constitution, and its military forces is nothing less than abominable. They and their like-minded ilk should be tried for treason and executed at dawn.

I believe old school war is no longer a viable way to resolve conflicts in the world....obviously. It's time to rethink and use more efficient high tech methods of quelling global hot spots and surely use diplomatic and economic tactics as well...this is what the UN is all about. I believe we need a Department of PEACE to balance out the Department of DEFENSE! Let's work for peace.
