Do You Feel Invisible to Your Government?

Target: Hillary Clinton for President Campaign
Sponsored by: Hillary Clinton for President
For six long years, America's working families have been invisible to our president.

Energy, health care, and education costs are rising while wages and incomes lag. Americans are working harder than ever, but keep falling further and further behind.

It's like middle class and hard working families don't even exist to this Administration.

If you're one of the nearly 90,000 people still living in trailers after Hurricane Katrina - you're invisible.

If you're a soldier back from Iraq fighting to get the treatment you need in crumbling facilities at Walter Reed - you're invisible.

If you're a parent who can't afford childcare or who struggles to get by on the minimum wage - while the wealthy get tax cuts -- you're invisible too.

Well, you're not invisible to the rest of America. When Hillary is in the White House, you will no longer be invisible to the President of the United States.

We want to hear your story. Share with our hillaryclinton.com community how you have felt invisible under the Bush Administration. Share with us your dreams for the future. And join the Hillary Clinton campaign to help make our way to the White House so we can change our country's direction and create a better future for everyone.

As a widow getting my name on property(cars), bills(telephone), bank accounts has been standing in lines for hours, signing innumerable papers which is difficult at an advanced age.

I have worked at a more than minimum wage job for the past 8 years. Over that time my benefits have been cut twice, my "cost of living" increase has dropped to the lowest ever, my insurance costs have skyrocketed, and I have gotten dug into a deeper and deeper financial hole because of it. It seems to me that this administration hasn't addressed any of the domestic issues since they have been so concerned about the ridiculous war of lies and deceit they entrenched us in. Seems to me they need to stop spending trillions on the war, and start spending more to help our economy grow, and cut health care costs-or better yet eliminate them completely by providing universal healthcare programs. I'm truly tired of being invisible to this administration. It's time for a change.

Single parents and parents paying non custodian child support payments are invisible to the government. Its time to allow tax deductions for parents who pay child support!

Hillary, Thanks for your care in this issue. I have seen these times as very trying on the Americans as well as the rest of the world. I not only feel invisible and know there isn't a true concern for the American people. BRING OUR TROOPS HOME!!!!!! We sit by and vote and still they do as they please. How can we feel visible with that type of structure? It's not about the people, it's about time to take back our government. Please help us to regain this freedom we take such pride in!!!! I support you, and your election!!! Thanks for caring and asking about us!

I will be so glad to see Bush out of the white house!!! He has shown he only cares about the rich and his state TX, when he heard Dean might hit TX - he was all ready to send help. What has he done for Louisana. That state is still not a state. He has let the American people down in so many ways. I am voting for Hillary. It is time for a change and she is what this country needs. My Dad had to work all his life just to make ends meet, and it was just him and my mom. When he passed away, he had nothing and all because of BUSH. The poor have nothing and rich just get richer. I would love to see BUSH have to live like my parents or others who are working two or three jobs just to have a roof over their heads and a meal to eat. My husband and I both work, it takes both of our pay checks to make ends meet. I am 58 and want to retire while I can still do things, but if we keep putting people like BUSH in office, I will be like my Dad and work hard all my life and end up with nothing. Thank you Carol H

medicare part d is such a joke, we pay $54 a month for it and it saves $9 on one of our prescriptions. Why can't the people in government deal with what we have to deal with when it comes to health care and medicare and medicare part d. they don't care because they ar well taken care of and have no money problems, like us on medicare living from check to check and being gouged by the drug company and yes, Bush who will do nothing to help.

I do not feel invisible. I believe in limited government involvement in citizens lives and this includes handouts. If victims of Katrina are still living in trailers 2+ years later, it's their own fault. People need to stop looking to Uncle Sam to bail them out of the poor planning and decisions they make in their lives. Unelss you are mentally or truley physically impaired, you should get NO government finanical assistance. Grow up people, stand on your own 2 feet and act like adults.

the middle class is gone and they are now living just above poverty, unable to afford medicine, health care, and any of the many extras in life that make life worth living. Also they are voiceless as a political group, since they have no extra money, but they do have votes.

Several years ago at the age og 61 my job was exported to Pakiston. In spite of anti-age descrimination, I was unable to find another one, even with years of experience. I ended up going on Social Security, which I augment by Substitute Teaching. I live with my daughter. When I turned 65 they started deducting $96 dollars a month for Medicare, which I cannot use because of the co-pay. I am just short that amount each month.

Well I wouldn't vote for Hiliary Can't say I'd vote for any of those dummies. The whole government should be fired and start over..it seems once they are in they forget what we the people want them to do and fix. I would hope someone can clean up Washington and work for the good of the United States forget giving all this AID to everyone else Charity begins at home.

The underdog suffers. One example is rural America and family farms. They struggle, while the big meat industries make megabucks and seem to have little or no regard for animal welfare and our health. I stopped eating meat period and suggest to others than if they want meat, they should get it from local sources and find out how humanely it is being slaughtered. A nation is judged by how it treats its animals. We are pathetic. Start from the bottom and work up.

Mine is one of those families that falls through the cracks on healthcare. Last year, I worked full time in Syracuse and supported my family, and we had insurance. However, we did not go to the doctor or hospital unless we had no other choice. The reason for this is if we did, we had a deductible and co insurance that we could not afford to pay. We carried the insurance we really couldn't afford just in case we had to be hospitalized. We're a family of 7 but my working put us over the qualification for medicaid. We need all the tax breaks we can get. Why is the Bush Administration still looking for ways to give tax breaks to the rich so they can hold on to their money and I struggle to keep food on the table?

Does it even do any good to talk about how you feel? Does anyone even care, or listen? I'm a single, working American, who has minimal health insurance. I spent my summer being treated for breast cancer, and now, have so many medical bills, I can never pay them all. What happened to this country?? We need a new President, SO bad. While I work my butt off, and worry about creditors coming after me, I can also worry about my Grandsons, over in Iraq. WHY do I think it's way past time for a change??? Gee, I wonder!!!!!!!

Single parents need breaks, just like the rich. I work hard every day and try to give my girls what they need. Please have your eyes open to this!

Our government just let Corporate America just do away with all our health retirement benefits. Work 30 for IBM only to lose all my health care and its so unaforable we have citizians with no health coverage and we fund anyone else in the world that needs help except our own. Washington should be completly flushed out and our elected officials held accountable.

I have been unable to obtain a good job after being on Social Security Disablity that meets my standards of living. I have been a hard worker for many years and I have been able to pay my bills and go to school - college only under the fact of being disabled and having benefits. I have been unable to return to the work force due to the lack of pay in many jobs and having little to no benefits offered at entry level positions. Me living in Arkansas my entire life I am sure that you have also seen the job opportunities but the lack of pay scale is very hindering to all hard working - lower paying jobs. I believe the wages are due for a measurable increase and that the business owners - industry is making mega bucks on us workers - little pay and no benefits. When you have a society that is building fast food restaurants increasing in your home town such as Rogers, Arkansas - it gives younger people a good "first job" but for someone my age of 40 - their is no happy medium of jobs nor pay for me and so I suffer from having to continue on disability - I have expensive medicine on a monthly basis that Medicare-Silverscript has only been able to meet. We must provide better wages and raise wages of all jobs in order to pick up the slack of pay we are missing. Thank you, Jennifer Bland

I have worked for Delta Airlines for 30 years. While the top people mismanaged and stole millions from the company.. We the workers took huge pay and health care cuts. Our retirement was frozen and thousands of dollars of stock were deemed worthless in our 401k plan. As a result, me and my fellow employees are working for wages we made in 1993. The company leaders CEO, CFO, and the others left with million and the company filed banckruptcy. Laws need to be passed to aid the working man in this country. I'd like to see a new preisident who stands for middle america and the poor. The rich have ruined our nation by their greed and folly.

I feel like I am invisible in that I am a single parent of a 20 year old daughter who is currently trying to pay for college. I have historically been a member of the democratic party, however, because of their stand on the immigration issue, I am seriously thinking of changing parties to either Independent or Republican. I believe our Country, and all the politicians who don't understand the rational argument that "American laws, including Immigration Laws, are meant to be abided by" have destroyed my faith in the Democratic Party as the party to support. I, as an American, know that if Democrats don't wake up and hold illegal immigrants, and the Countries who encourage their citizens to illegal cross our borders, accountable, our Country will continue to decline in terms of Standard of Living. If Hillary Clinton does not make her stand on this issue crystal clear during her run for President, I will not stand by her. I would love to elect her President, but I have been outraged, especially since the 9/11 bombing, that this Country does not understand that ALL ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION puts the law abiding citizens of America at risk!!!

I am a single woman, 57 years old. I was recently laid off from a position with the local university. Although it is personally a problem as I now have no insurance and only part-time job opportunities in my field, I am most concerned because the end of my job also signaled the end of a program for refugees and immigrants for vocational English. Classes have been reduced severely or eliminated completely.

I have no doubt about my choice for the next president of the US and that's Hillary Clinton. Hillary, I've been without medical coverage for several years now. I can't afford it. Around 2 months ago I broke my foot and now I have been forced to apply for emergency Medicaid to cover the even increasing costs of care. I have no guarantee that I'll receive it. I am fighting off the impression that I am somehow inferior to others because I am without medical care because I know that that's nonsense. So many of us are in the same boat. If you do nothing else as president, Hillary, if you are able to achieve health care coverage for everyone you will have made your mark.

This is the most self-serving, dissconnected administration I have ever experienced. They not only don't care about the middle class and working poor in this country they are blatant about their disregard for the majority of the American people. I never thought that at the age of nearly 60 years old I would still be living from paycheck to paycheck just making ends meet and I consider myself part of what is known as the median income group. I have to wonder what my actual retirement will bring with such selfish and self-absorbed people running our government. If we don't have major change soon I will probably be working until I am 102, if I should live so long. I and others like me have suffered through these kinds of adminstrations before and they have always set the country back both economically and socially, but this particular administation is doing an over the top job of it.

No offense to all the working families out there, but I am even more invisible as a single woman with no children. There isn't enough room here for me to even get started. My dreams for the 2008 election? A candidate who has read and understands the constitution, particularly the 1st and 14th Amendments, and understands that our current behemoth of a tax code is in violation of the latter; a candidate who sees American people, period, not whites, not blacks, not married, not single, not working families, not gay, not straight, not anything BUT American people. No one should get special privileges for being anything.

I have been unemployed since Jan, 07 when the company closed down their retail venue in my town due to lack of sales. I was the manager. After sending out 40 resumes a week for the past 2 months, I had 5 interviews only and did not get 1 job. Starbucks even passed because I was an older person! There are no jobs out there that will pay a decent salary more then $14 per hour starting out even if you have experience. It is really really hard to find anything other then $8 per hour at dept. store settings.

I feel that it is evident how me and many other people feel invisible..........the USA (Bush and cronies) obviously do not care about anyone but themselves........duh! They are mentally unstable people. Because people that care open their hearts and best interest is for the greater good. It is obvious that they are so hardened mentally and shut down their hearts. It causes chaos..............shall I say more? Dreams, greater good, do onto others as you would like others to do to you........we each are responsible........each one of us. Every moment keeping that prayer in our hearts and minds. It is not only Hilary and the government it is all of us. I do have that dream.............and a dream that Bush would be impeached.....he needs help and he should know that he is a very sick person. It is not all about me, it is about our children and theirs.........so stop sleeping and change your beliefs.........yes, we all leave this planet and might I ask, what will you retrospect on your death bed..........what deeds?
