For six long years, America's working families have been invisible to our president.
Energy, health care, and education costs are rising while wages and incomes lag. Americans are working harder than ever, but keep falling further and further behind.
It's like middle class and hard working families don't even exist to this Administration.
If you're one of the nearly 90,000 people still living in trailers after Hurricane Katrina - you're invisible.
If you're a soldier back from Iraq fighting to get the treatment you need in crumbling facilities at Walter Reed - you're invisible.
If you're a parent who can't afford childcare or who struggles to get by on the minimum wage - while the wealthy get tax cuts -- you're invisible too.
Well, you're not invisible to the rest of America. When Hillary is in the White House, you will no longer be invisible to the President of the United States.
We want to hear your story. Share with our hillaryclinton.com community how you have felt invisible under the Bush Administration. Share with us your dreams for the future. And join the Hillary Clinton campaign to help make our way to the White House so we can change our country's direction and create a better future for everyone.
We signed the “Do You Feel Invisible to Your Government?” petition!

I most certianly do feel invisible to the government! For something that was set up to represent the will of the people, It is failing! Seems like no matter how loud "the people" scream we are being ignored. This country is headed for a very serious fall and the way things are being run is only helping that out-come. The working families are severly overlooked.People that actually work for a living can barley make it and have to work multiple jobs just to cover the basics while others are handed stuff for free. Yet illegeal's have more rights and benefits than we do. We send all our jobs out of country only to import back in things that kill our kids and foods that start a health crisis. This country couldn't survive on it's own now if it had to. Time for a change and this time not one for the worse with a lot of mouth service saying how goos it is for all of us. I'm sick of my opinion being ignored and I'm sick of being lied to and abused by my own government.

Do I feel invisible to my government? Indeed I do. The politicians pander and offer grandiose solutions to issues facing our country. They tell us what we want to hear, and yet when it comes down to following through, they do not deliver. They are professional politicians who live out of touch with the working class. They are professional politicians, wealthy and buffered from the reality that faces the average American citizen. As a new election dawns on the horizon, one is left with a very empty feeling. Indecision 2008 it is. Not one candidate on the Democratic side or the Republican side inspires confidence. Who will get this country back on track? What politician will listen to the American people? It presently seems that there is no solution to our problems. Maybe average citizens should be given a chance at the presidency as opposed to the rich clique of professional politicians with slick palms. Who knows, maybe something will actually get done!

I sincerely feel the Government as we know it now has got to change! And I agree that when Hillary Clinton is President things will change for the better. We need Universal Health Care like some of the other countries, along with alot more changes for the U.S. Citizens that are struggling to survive, we need to be more like the other countries that take care of their people, instead of filling the Gov't' & Pharmaceudical Companies pockets! Wages don't fit the Cost of Living in most states, which means we can never get ahead and are always struggling financially, that's the way the Gov't likes it, so that we're always under their thumb. We need a BIG change and soon!!!

I hope whomever gets elected will actually listen to the needs of the American public and I mean those who live in the poverty level. These people just can't seem to get ahead. It's one struggle after another. It's time our government stopped catering to the wealthy and industry and sending money overseas. It's time America benefited!

Hello, my name is BJ Stasio. I would like to marry my girlfriend, but it would mean that i would lose all my medical coverage. Now the only reason this affects me is that i have cerebral palsy. The government is threatening to take away my benefits if i was to get married, which would put all my expenses on my girlfriend. My expenses are too much for her to handle, and i would not want to put that kind of burden on her. So please sign the petition and help me make my dream come true. Thank you for your time, you are greatly appreciated.

Well I'm tired of picking sides. I feel like if i go this way I'm looked at funny, If i go here it's b/c the people around me are doing it. I'm tired of people making promises they can't keep. MY hope for the election is that this nation will no longer be divided. Once people stop looking at your skin color then nothing will never change. I just want the right person to lead.

Health insurance is a sometimes unobtainable goal for many people I see working right now. Many employers are hiring people as halftime employees and working them full time hours to get around offering them medical insurance. Medicare/medicaid is still a cruel joke for many who SHOULD qualify. Socialized medicine needs to be a top priority in the 2008 elections.

My husband and I feel invisible to the government, we are struggling to make it only on his income, because I just had a baby and it is close to impossible. We tried to get food stamps, but we made something like 20 or 30 dollars to much. The standards for food stamps need to be made higher as is the cost of living. We are not eligible for any other public assitance and I think it is ridiculous because the average family cant afford 7 dollars for a gallon of milk. Something needs to be done and done SOON!!!

I do not blame one single man, one solid administration, for the current cracks in our healthcare and welfare system. I think that we, as a people, need to do more to make a difference. We need to take responsibility for our own actions. I agree that there are pitfalls, there always have been. We are an evolving country and evolution always equates necessary change.
The question, then, is what do we, the people feel should be changed? We elect an official and then falsely assume that our work is complete. This government was created BY THE PEOPLE FOR THE PEOPLE. It is wrong for us to complain so much, only to then sit about and do nothing.
I feel that our white house, our president (and past presidents) see us perfectly. They hear us, because we are loud and opinionated.
Americans are incapable of truly seeing EACH OTHER. Who is invisible to whom here?
I disapprove completely of Clinton's attempt to rally for his wife. We have never had a woman president, thus far. The world is quite ready to disect both her and Obama, ready to feed. Silence is golden. Speak softly and carry a big stick.
