Do You Feel Invisible to Your Government?

Target: Hillary Clinton for President Campaign
Sponsored by: Hillary Clinton for President
For six long years, America's working families have been invisible to our president.

Energy, health care, and education costs are rising while wages and incomes lag. Americans are working harder than ever, but keep falling further and further behind.

It's like middle class and hard working families don't even exist to this Administration.

If you're one of the nearly 90,000 people still living in trailers after Hurricane Katrina - you're invisible.

If you're a soldier back from Iraq fighting to get the treatment you need in crumbling facilities at Walter Reed - you're invisible.

If you're a parent who can't afford childcare or who struggles to get by on the minimum wage - while the wealthy get tax cuts -- you're invisible too.

Well, you're not invisible to the rest of America. When Hillary is in the White House, you will no longer be invisible to the President of the United States.

We want to hear your story. Share with our hillaryclinton.com community how you have felt invisible under the Bush Administration. Share with us your dreams for the future. And join the Hillary Clinton campaign to help make our way to the White House so we can change our country's direction and create a better future for everyone.

We lived in Port St. Lucie, Florida USA during the 2004 and 2005 hurricane season. Our home was hit 3 times. Lots of damage. My husband had a Bell's Palsy episode brought on by stress. Yet, he was up every morning helping people to get their electric back on. I suffered from mold in my lungs. My lung capacity went from a normal 450 to 250. Both of us were unable to work full time jobs. And yet,we had a second job of cleaning up. We lost our home. Even though we tried to negotiate with our morgage company to give us time to get back on our feet. Luckily, my husband had health insurance through his work. But, I didn't. It wasn't until we moved in with my daughter in Maine that I was able to get free health care through the Leavitt's Mill Clinic. The Clinic helps people like me who are invisible to our government. WE NEED A CHANGE.... FOR THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE.... WE NEED UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE.... WE NEED AFFORDABLE HOUSING WITH FLEXIBILITY FOR SITUATIONS LIKE OURS.... CHANGE!!!!!!!!!

I feel invisible because my health care issues are just getting pushed under the rug and every year I have to be scared that will lose my insurance. I make so little on disability that I have to risk my health further by working against doctors orders. I do not believe at this time that any Clinton can make the situation better since it was the same under the husband. My dreams for the 2008 election is that Obama gets elected and the country has a real chance for a change instead of doing it the same old way-or the way it has done before. I feel that so far he is the one one running that is more than just mere words, he is a man of action.

I became permently disabled. It took losing my house, ect. to get any help medically. I worked hard for what I had and now its gone. Disabled housing is even harder to afford when the income falls below the poverty line. I would say Yes I feel invisible.

I am a nurse, but I do not have health insurance. I have 2 sons with muscular dystrophy, this requires me to be with them so much of the time that I am unable to work "the authorized hours" to get health insurance.

If you really study history, you'll see that those who created our present situation cannot truely solve the problems they got us into through ego and greed. We need a complete change of officials/system who are honest and intellegent, who are not loyal to the "system" they have built for themselves, and above all greedy for what they can get out of the system. This will probably take some kind of terrible situation that can institute a new beginning, not the dictatorial slave/master system these rulers are planning for us. We had that chance when this was the only country ever created by the people and for the people rather then a ruling elite. Now we have come down to the ruling elite who feel superior, entitled -even those who are more altruistic- where you are of no import, more like a beast of burden given crumbs to eat- except to furnish the cheap labor to keep them in their position of wealth and power while you suffer all kinds of deprivaion. God promisies to do just that as He said "do not put you trust in the princes of men", those who have proven unable to rule in justice and fairness for all. We are about to see it happen, actually seeing it now! We can take comfort in His promise as He has the power to do away with this wickedness of those whos time is about up in their chance to rule nations -controled by Satan who offered them to Jesus for worship- as they have been found wanting and doing evil. We can take comfort in the earth changes coming even if you have to suffer, as it is for a just cause in love and understanding of what is right and just in doing God's will in understanding real justice toards those of good will. Be steadfast in HIs love to those who suffer in the present.

I have watched in 8 years as the economy of our great country is shredded in favor of Corp. abuse. Every time this President has a choice between the people and a large Corp. entity he chooses their Corp. abuse over the interests of we the people. He can't hear us, he silences those of us trying to go to meeting, he stops protestors, he silences petitions and even tries to change the laws or our constitution that allow free speech. His own gatherings are sensored so that it appears the people there approve of his actions. Those who do not approve are removed, silenced, arrested. The media is a joke and de-regulation over ownership has allowed those in power to sensor what we hear and see and know. When Brittany Spears makes the evening news and not those who died in war, I ask, "Is this News"? Jobs have left the country, and the water is worse, the air is dirtier and our babies are sicker. Our very standing in this country with the world is no longer something we can be proud of. Torture and murder are done in our name and families fall apart from financial ruin. While Corporations grow richer we the people grow poorer. I can't believe this is what Bush is proud of. I can't believe he assumes he is doing the best for his country. He can't possibly believe his God approves of his actions either. I wonder if he believes in anything but power any more and his own financial interests. Health Insurance companies ( see "Sicko") are killing us in exchange for larger profit and our own Congress seems out of touch and only out to hold on to their first and only love, "power". We the people are at times prevented from even an honest election. We are silenced at every turn due to the abuse of power of this administrations love of power over the duty to we the people. They allowed 9/11 in their own interest because war is profitable to their self interest. Our Congress no longer has our interest at heart, and not the thousands they kill in a war that is a proven lie.

I have watched as I lost a Father and my Mother withers away to nothing... My parents worked all their lives and back those with broken promises... I am tired of the lip service from our elected officials... We all have a voice each and everyone... And they all should be heard...

I just got off the phone with a friend whose daughter is sick with a bronchial infection and coughing up blood. She can't afford to go to the doctor and pay an office call of $80 on top of medication to clear it up. She and her husband work full-time, and they have 3 children. The oldest daughter is in college and working for books required for the courses she takes. They plant a huge garden and can/freeze/make jellies and jams as much as is possible to help with their grocery bill, but they don't fit any of the criteria for assistance. What do people like this do if they have an automobile break down or a refrigerator or any other big ticket item. What if a child develops a serious disease? The parents often have to divorce and live in separate homes to handle situations like this to see that the child is able to receive the care and treatment they need to survive. That seems a bit drastic to me. Breaking up a family for the child and its siblings to receive medical coverage, rent assistance, heat assistance/winterization, food stamps, Title 19, mileage to and from medical appointments, child care if the mother wants to go to college. In addition, the state will also pay tuition/books/mileage. Sad that it takes tearing apart a family to simply keep their heads above water. However, this may leave the mother so harried that she isn't able to work and make passing grades, especially if she's going to have to have a tutor for part of her courses. What is just as sad are the elderly couples who have to divorce to be able to receive Title 19 for prescriptions and don't want to live out of marriage to the person they've shared the past 50 years of their life with, for example. They're proud of being among the thinning herd of couples whose marriages survive the decades and they love their spouses. Living without them breaks their hearts and some live together anyway, but goodness help them if they get caught! This is sad state of affairs we've slid into. Please help us return to a country where we can take care of our own people and make all citizens proud once more of the America that used to be heralded by other countries.

i feel invisible. as a part of the youth of America, i feel invisible to the government and the administration. i feel like my voice isn't heard and that people's true needs aren't met at all. i hope that whomever is elected for the 2008 president, will fill our unheard voice in and make us visible and make a difference in the world.

We are all invisible under dictator bush's government. He respects nothing but the almighty dollar, ignoring the wishes and well-being of WE THE PEOPLE, terrorizing America's citizens and the planet in every way, shape, and form that he is able. My dreams for the 2008 election is that it be held today and that he be prosecuted for his plethora of lies and treason, along with being replaced immediately. I fail to understand why impeachment proceedings weren't begun years ago. Another dream is to get rid of his false paranoia and "Homeland Security". Homeland Security, bah! Homeland Terrorism is a much more appropriate term.
