Stop the Global Warming Cover Up!
Target: EPA administrator Stephen L. JohnsonSponsored by: Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee
Former EPA deputy associate administrator Jason K. Burnett announced that Vice President Dick Cheney's office censored out six pages of congressional testimony last October to cover up the health threats posed by global warming.
Julie Gerberding, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, had testimony that would have detailed the direct impact of rising global temperatures on human health, including mortality and the spread of disease. But the administration feared her testimony would force it to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from burning fossil fuels.
Senate and House committees have been trying for months to get e-mail exchanges and other documents to determine the extent of political influence on government scientists, but have been rebuffed.
It's time for the EPA to come clean! Join Senator Barbara Boxer and the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee: Demand that the EPA finally turn over all communications related to its findings about global warming's consequences on public health and the environment.

I'm only afraid that you (EPA) will ignore all the notes sent to you. PLEASE pay attention. People are angry and freightened and yet we love our country and want to see this mess cleared up. I remember years ago I was so thrilled when the EPA was formed but it seems in the past 71/2 years it's gone down hill and I think you're controlled by Dick Cheney. He'll be out of office in a few months so listen to the people. Thank you Florence Kennedy

It is my right as a human on this earth to enjoy polar bears for as long as I can. It is unfair for you our Gov to sneak around trying to make changes to harm our animals and our planet. My kids have a right to explore these wonderful animals in places other then zoos behind bar in cages. STOP MESSING WITH MY PLANET NOW!!!!!!! Shannone Ball

Despite what the Administration does or does not want the public to know, the information about human health impacts of global warming exists and is available in books and journal articles and the international press. I urge the Administration to take a positive leadership role by acknowledging these problems and doing what it takes to deal effectively with them. Censoring information and encouraging more oil consumption are damaging.
