Stand Tall for America: Support Health Care for All!

Target: U.S. Senate
Sponsored by: Stand Tall for America

It's time for universal health care.  Senator Ron Wyden (D-Oregon) has proposed the Healthy Americans Act, and it would guarantee everyone health care that is:

  • Universal. Every American will have guaranteed health care.
  • Comprehensive.  A high quality plan - as good as what members of Congress get.
  • Portable.  It's your health care, and you can take it with you if you change jobs, are laid off, go to school, start a new business, or become too sick to work.
  • Non-discriminatory.  We'll ban "pre-existing conditions" and make sure that every pays a fair price for equal, high quality, coverage.
  • Affordable.  Under $40,000 income?  You'll pay less than you do now.  Under $150,000 income?  You'll pay about $1 a day more than today for guaranteed coverage.

Can the Healthy Americans Act be a reality?  Yes.  There are already over a dozen bipartisan co-sponsors in the U.S. Senate.

Once the Healthy Americans Act passes, we will have universal, affordable, comprehensive, portable, high-quality, private health coverage - within one year.  There's no reason to wait.  The Act even saves money through wellness and prevention - $1.48 trillion in one respected, independent study.

The Healthy Americans Act puts you in charge of your health care choices, not your employer.  Every American will feel secure, knowing that your health care won't ever go away.  And 46 million Americans will get the comprehensive health care they need.

But we need your help to make the Healthy Americans Act a reality.  We need a few more Senators to sign on as co-sponsors - so tell your Senators to support the Healthy Americans Act today!

Dear Senator [Last Name]:

At this moment, 46 million Americans are uninsured. For workers and their families who have health insurance through their employers, many are afraid that they will lose coverage if they change jobs, are laid off, go to school or become too sick to work.

But the Healthy Americans Act, a bi-partisan health care reform plan by Senator Ron Wyden (D-Oregon), would guarantee every American universal, affordable, comprehensive, portable, high-quality, private health coverage that is as good or better than Members of Congress have today. The Act includes tough cost containment measures -- and would save Americans $1.45 trillion over the next decade.

The Healthy Americans Act:

- Guarantees private health care coverage that doesn't go away, even if you change jobs, lose your job, retire, go to school or become too sick to work.
- Provides a generous benefit equal to those of Members of Congress.

This country desperately needs a health care reform which would guarantee that each American be covered by a health insurance. And we need it now!

It is a must, we need a universal health care and at affordable rates. With no esclusions. Including incentives for preventive care. How can we call ourself leader of the world in democracy if we have the health care in the hands of the Insurance Companies that dictate the exstent of the coverage and who will be covered and when the job is lost there is e limited coverage of few months at a high cost rate? We need the health care coverage foe everyone and need to be well managed.

It is my opinion, that you are better off without health insurance. On more than a few occasions, I have been told I had life threatening health problems because I have good insurance. As it turned out, there was nothing wrong with me.But I guess in case of severe trauma, it might come in handy. Just be sure to get more than one diagnosis. And don't fall for that old crap about a doctor being honorable just because he has a diploma on the wall.
