Urge Congress to Permanently Protect the Arctic Refuge!

The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is home to caribou, snow fox and millions of migratory birds. It is also the most important onshore denning habitat for America's vanishing polar bears.
But this natural treasure is constantly under siege. Time and time again, the oil industry and their allies in Congress have sought to open this special place to harmful new drilling, threatening all of the wildlife that depend on it for survival.
And now President Bush has called for drilling in the Arctic Refuge by 2010 in his new budget proposal!
We need to permanently protect the Arctic Refuge! Urge your Representative to support the Udall-Eisenhower Arctic Wilderness Act (H.R. 39) to permanently protect the coastal plain of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

Since the Bush administration doesn't care about our animals or lands, it is up to you to try to save them. Let George Bush drill on his own land and leave the artic wilderness and its wildlife alone.

Leave ANWR alone! Provide permanent habitat protection - not just for the animals, but for the rest of the planet. Drilling for more oil to meet astonishing demands right now sells off my grandkid's inheritance to the highest bidder. ANWR is irreplaceable and unique. We don't need to wipe out yet another fragile habitat in the search for a non-renewable resource.

G.W.Bush is incapable of thinking, he is good at doing his "Howdy-Doody" tap dance to enact any legislation Cheney tells him to do. Drilling for oil in ANWAR and vicinity will take at least 10 years for any oil they might recover to reach the lower 48-- as it did when they opened Prudhoe Bay, and 97% of THAT oil was sold to the Japanese! In addition any drilling and the resulting gas flares will GREATLY ACCELERATE GLOBAL WARMING, WHICH IS A WORLDWIDE THREAT TO HUMANS AS WELL AS THE wonderful wildlife species THAT ONLY LIVE IN THE ARCTIC!!

Do you Understand EARTH?? The Sun??? Solar is the solution, Algae is the solution and many many other ways less harmful on our Atmosphere and Future. Imagine Solar for every roof top in America -- Please put those drilling monies in something INTELLIGENT - Stop being a badger for sickness President Bush. These wonderful mammals are struggling to stay alive and need all the help they can get. They are starting to make some adaptations but they need their denning shore. I urge you to help save the polar bears and earn some environmental credits for your legacy.

Logically, with the way of the combustion engine and gasoline and oil coming to an end as the fuel of the future, it would appear that continuing the destruction of the Arctic and other wild areas is the most short sighted plan that human kind could possible carry forward!

This country went to War with a country huge in oil drilling, and yet we have yet to reep the benefits from that, i feel it uneccesary to drill in the artic The polar bears and other species are drowning and are running out of places to live, i do not feel it necessary to drill for oil, and run our wildlife off, just so The oil tycoons can beef up their pockets even more.

These permanent protections are especially important for America's remaining polar bears. According to a U.S. Geological Survey report, polar bears will likely be extinct in Alaska in as little as 50 years due to rapidly melting sea ice. The Arctic Refuge is one of the most important onshore denning habitats for these magnificent creatures -- and permanent protections will give them a fighting chance at survival.
