The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is home to caribou, snow fox and millions of migratory birds. It is also the most important onshore denning habitat for America's vanishing polar bears.
But this natural treasure is constantly under siege. Time and time again, the oil industry and their allies in Congress have sought to open this special place to harmful new drilling, threatening all of the wildlife that depend on it for survival.
And now President Bush has called for drilling in the Arctic Refuge by 2010 in his new budget proposal!
We need to permanently protect the Arctic Refuge! Urge your Representative to support the Udall-Eisenhower Arctic Wilderness Act (H.R. 39) to permanently protect the coastal plain of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
We took action on “Urge Congress to Permanently Protect the Arctic Refuge!”

Not again. There is no evidence that ruining this beautiful area will ever yield enough oil to make one bit of difference to our dependence on foreign oil. Let us rather spend our efforts on alternative sources of energy, fuel-efficiency standards for cars and industries, and a meaningful effort at conservation.

Global warming is already doing away with and damaging much of the Arctic habitats. Let's not make it even worse.

Drilling in the Arctic Refuge would destroy this wilderness area forever and would send the message that we wish to continue our dependency on oil. Protect this precious resource and encourage the use of alternatives while financing the creation of technology that will enable us to function while preserving our non-renewable resources on earth. Think of the future and not the moment at hand. Please act responsibly.

I am not a part of the supposed 70%! I am a former boy scout and I expect America to find a different way! I do not believe that plundering all of our resources so there is nothing left for future generations is completely shameful and unbecoming of any future leader. What are our childern supposed to do?
How are these christian values? Christ never taught about greed or exploitation. Christ's message is about loving those who are different from oneself and not to persecute them. He was persecuted and killed for who he was, for trying to do good and be good to others. No where in Christ's message is there mention of war or pre-emptive strikes. That should be all left for God to decide.
God gave us free will. It is one of the greatest gifts he could give. But in doing that... he also gave us the ability to destroy ourselves and each other.
What would Jesus do?
