Protect Animals During Times of Disaster!

With hurricane season on us again we need to make sure that our nationÂ’s animals
will be protected before and after a disaster.
Tragically for our pets, the federal government will not reimburse states for the cost of rescuing and sheltering animals, or for the cost of reuniting them with loving families.
But the Senate is considering a new law called the PETS bill, that acknowledges the federal governmentÂ’s responsibility to provide funding to help states cover the additional costs of animal shelter, care and reunion with their families.
Please tell your U.S. Senators to support the PETS bill and help make sure pets are cared for before, and after, a disaster!

It is disgraceful that the government does not recognize the importance of companion animals. For some people, it is all they have. Please do right by them and pass a law that will give them the protection they rightly deserve in cases of emergencies.

If you're going to help humans, think of their companions too! Think back to Katrina, lots of people lost their lives because they wanted to stay behind with their animals. Also, animals have feelings too. They are scared and alone as well. They need help and homes just as much as someone who had their's flooded or destroyed. Animals cannot "buy" their next home. They can only hope someone takes them home and loves them.

I totally support any laws protecting our pets in time of disaster as well as daily life. I do wildlife rescue, and their needs to be laws protecting them also. So please don't forget about our wild friends also.

Our pets are just humans with fur, feathers and... our angels too, they have feelings as we, intelligence in different ways even more than we, when they are in our care we are responsible for their well being . They look up to us being totally dependient of us or their invironment and for those close to humans not saving them is like not saving our human children. World - be kind and gentle to all these wonderful souls - and it will make a better world and make you better people.

The human race created domestication of animals, and our precious animal companions deserve to be rescued in times of national disaster as much as we do.
