Women make up more than half of the population of the United States, yet women still struggle to gain freedom over our most basic rights – the right to plan our pregnancies, the right to choose when and if to have a child, and the right to control our bodies, WITHOUT government interference in our private medical decisions!
On January 22, 2004, the 31st anniversary of Roe v. Wade, Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) and Representative Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) introduced the federal Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA), a landmark piece of legislation that will protect women's civil liberties and prohibit the government from interfering in the exercise of reproductive rights.
Help pass this bill to protect our most fundamental freedoms! FOCA is about reproductive freedom at its most basic for ALL women – FOCA protects a woman's right to choose to bear a child as well as her right to plan her pregnancies with birth control and to choose to terminate a pregnancy. FOCA prohibits discrimination against the exercise of reproductive rights.

You never hear about some woman sitting in an office deciding the fate of millions of mens right to choose to sew their seed, why, then, should one man, sitting in an office get to decide what path women should take upon finding out about an unwanted pregnancy. Just sit and meditate on that idea for a minute.

Women should have the right to decide
their own reproductive choices although it should be done with care and thought and there should be a time frame because there is a point when it does become murder if an abortion is performed. In my opinion it would be about 3-4 mos. After this time period I am against abortions unless it is deemed unsafe for the mother to carry to full tern.

Bush is trying to take these basic rights away. The megalomaniac must be stopped, and further legislation MUST be passed to insure the protections we have fought so hard to gain!!!

a woman's right to decide whether or not she is able to support a child emotionally and financially is her right and hers alone, and no liberal government should interfere with her personal freedom of choice. Adoption is not the answer to abortion and will not be until the system is reformed to avoid the thousands of children bounced from foster home to foster home, and it is the woman's right to decide this for herself. If the government were to attempt to legislate castration for every man who impregnated a woman and was unable to emotionally or financially support the resulting child, this debate would be far different.
