The recent presidential primaries have highlighted a key imbalance in the media's coverage of global warming.
A League of Conservation Voters' study found that ABC's George Stephanopoulos asked presidential candidates more than 767 questions in a debate -- only 5 of which were related to global warming. CNN's Wolf Blitzer asked more than 402 questions -- only 5 were about global warming. Sadly, other political commentators and reporters have shown a similar disregard for this key issue.
Not to mention, when global warming is covered, many media outlets still bring on "scientists" who claim that global warming is not real, even though an overwhelming majority of scientists agree that it is. This is not balanced - this is deceiving. The public deserves responsible reporting on this critical issue.
Sign the petition today to tell these media outlets that global warming needs to be covered, and it needs to be covered in a meaningful and truly balanced manner.

Even if you subscribe to the idea that we are in the end times there is nothing in the bible that says we as humans are supposed to destroy the earth. It is time to stop pandering to corporate interests and give this subject fair coverage.

Those that think that global warming is a hoax are not being realists and are fools.

As a former professor of environmental science, I have been studying this issue for over 20 years. There is no REASONABLE "other side" to this issue. The people that continue to deny the presence of anthropogenic global warming belong in the same league as Holocaust deniers.

How can people still believe that global warming is a hoax. Are they all totally stupid with their heads stuck in the sand. Thinking that god is going to save them from anything. They really need to get real.

Most reputable scientists believe Global Warming is real and that we only have about 10 years to get it turned around. Even George Bush has at times admitted that the earth is warming. (he just denies that his rich friends and donors are causing it). This is the fate of our children and grandchildren and the question of weather or not our civilization will be here when they get older.

It's no wonder the US media is so far down the list of countries worldwide. for the most part the quality s**ks and the inaccuracies are many and unacceptable. The debate is long over, period. You should start telling the truth or just not even mention it.

No one in the U.S. doubts the existence of an avalanche of 'extreme weather' these days -- even local news channels use that term. But the truth is that the glut of extreme weather is proof of climate change (otherwise known as global warming). And the whole world knows it and talks about it constantly -- except for Americans. Virtually all other countries think Americans are sunk deeply into denial -- and they would be laughing at us, if they weren't feeling the devastating effects of what we do every day(since we are the most polluting nation on the planet). Can you really sit there, giving up your professional integrity and looking like boobs, to Europeans, Asians, Africans and South Americans, all of whom have signed the Kyoto treaty and talk about global warming every day -- both in the streets and on the TV news. We have a lot of catching up to do. Don't allow the credibility of the news to be completely destroyed by ultra-conservatives. Have some dignity -- stand up for yourselves, reality, and the small chance we have left of saving our only home.

Considering that global climate change is the largest issue facing mankind in this century it would be helpful to know where the candidates stand on the issue. It would also be useful if the media got their noses out from under Paris and Britney's skirts and brought the public some real in-depth information on this mounting crisis.

I'm very disappointed that environmental issues like global warming and ANWR drilling have taken a back seat in this election. Since the Bush admin did nothing to tackle these issues, we are now in greater peril than ever. These are (and have been) crucial years when it comes to environmental and energy policies and it's time the media started asking more questions and demanding answers.
