Tell the Media There is No Other Side to Global Warming

The recent presidential primaries have highlighted a key imbalance in the media's coverage of global warming.
A League of Conservation Voters' study found that ABC's George Stephanopoulos asked presidential candidates more than 767 questions in a debate -- only 5 of which were related to global warming. CNN's Wolf Blitzer asked more than 402 questions -- only 5 were about global warming. Sadly, other political commentators and reporters have shown a similar disregard for this key issue.
Not to mention, when global warming is covered, many media outlets still bring on "scientists" who claim that global warming is not real, even though an overwhelming majority of scientists agree that it is. This is not balanced - this is deceiving. The public deserves responsible reporting on this critical issue.
Sign the petition today to tell these media outlets that global warming needs to be covered, and it needs to be covered in a meaningful and truly balanced manner.

The fact that global warming is a serious threat is obvious to rational people. To deny that fact is to support wholesale death and destruction -- and we the public hold the media responsible. Please rise up to the oath of journalism, to get the facs straight and to tell the truth.

I would like to see what the individual household impact is. I think everyone individually thinks they do not make an impact, but if everyone on their block/neighboor hood collectivelly worked together greater impacts could be understood and achieved.

How can you even pretend this crisis is not real? We are not so stupid as you must think. You need to focus on real issues, global warming for one and human over population as the MOST important factor causing global warming. The media must not play into the hands of the well-financed polluters. I have become discouraged with the one-sided and misguided information I see on television and in the newspapers regarding climate change. I wonder many times if garrulous personalities on television have "gifts for gab" but little else to offer the public. Global warming is real and it must be stopped. There are some who care little for our planet, polar bears, penguins, and other wildlife, tornadoes and other violent weather patterns, disappearing ice shelves in the Arctic and Antartica but those of us who do must stand and shout that what is happening in the name of profits must stop. The media could be educators. They could take the role of teachers in disseminating FACTS and FIGURES so the public fully understands what is happening to our world and what we, as individuals, must do to stop global warming.

Dear Fox News, CNN, NBC and ABC I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the coverage of the issue of global warming on your network. Scientists around the world agree that global warming is a serious threat and a critical issue that must be acted on immediately. And yet, your network seems to either ignore that it exists, or treats it as an issue that is not yet determined to be real. This is deceiving and irresponsible. As a member of the media, it is your responsibility to educate the public about these critical issues, and I urge you to do so in your daily coverage, and particularly with the upcoming elections.
