The California Supreme Court has just confirmed what we all know in our hearts - that lesbians and gay men in California have every right to marry the person they love.
This is an historic moment - but there is a real threat to our joy looming in November. Anti-gay bigots are pushing to get a constitutional amendment on November's ballot to ban same-sex marriage. If approved, this amendment would overturn the Supreme Court's decision and send California into the dark ages in terms of equality.
We need to build momentum now to defeat this dangerous amendment. Please pledge to vote against a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage, and then ask your friends to do the same. As we grow this movement we'll let the media know that Californians want marriage equality for all!
MY PLEDGE:
I support the rights of lesbians and gay men to marry, and I am thrilled by the California Supreme Court's decision to affirm this fundamental right. I pledge to vote NO on any constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage in California. I will spread the word about this dangerous amendment and urge all of my friends to vote NO as well.

Favoring equal rights seems such an obvious choice that I find it difficult to articulate any other reason.

It is TIME to end this discrimination. Gay people deserve every right of any other citizen.
Most people know and love at least one Gay person, whether in the family or a family friend, so it is way past time, to end this prejudice once and for all.

There is no reason why NOT to support equality! I have just as much right to marry the person I love as any other person. Let's continue to fight for TRUE equality for everyone!

What right does ANYONE have to agree or disagree with how two OTHER people wish to characterize their love for each other. If they wish to call their union a marriage, then they must not be denied; that right or any of the hundreds of the others that marriage confers.

CONTRACTS BETWEEN PEOPLE OF DIFFERENT LIFE STYLES SHOULD, WITHOUT A QUESTION, BE HONORED AS ARE ANY OTHER CONTRACTS BETWEEN HUMANS.
UNLIKE BUSINESS PARTNERSHIPS, THE MARRIAGE PARTNERSHIPS BETWEEN MALE & MALE, FEMALE & FEMALE SHOULD BE TREATED THE SAME, UNDER THE LAW (TAXATION & PROPERTY RIGHTS), AS ARE MARRIED HETEROSEXUALS.

I do not see how I could not support equality -- what is the choice? I do not support inequality!
America had over two hundred years of inequality and I think that was enough!

Because not having it is unconstitutional, because it keeps GLBT people in "second-class citizen" category, and because marriage inequality is clearly and patently unfair.
