Oppose Anti-Same Sex Marriage Constitutional Amendment

Sponsored by: Care2

The California Supreme Court has just confirmed what we all know in our hearts - that lesbians and gay men in California have every right to marry the person they love.

This is an historic moment - but there is a real threat to our joy looming in November. Anti-gay bigots are pushing to get a constitutional amendment on November's ballot to ban same-sex marriage. If approved, this amendment would overturn the Supreme Court's decision and send California into the dark ages in terms of equality.

We need to build momentum now to defeat this dangerous amendment. Please pledge to vote against a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage, and then ask your friends to do the same. As we grow this movement we'll let the media know that Californians want marriage equality for all!

MY PLEDGE:

I support the rights of lesbians and gay men to marry, and I am thrilled by the California Supreme Court's decision to affirm this fundamental right. I pledge to vote NO on any constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage in California. I will spread the word about this dangerous amendment and urge all of my friends to vote NO as well.

The ability to love was instilled in all human beings by God. Those that want this anti-same sex marriage constitutional amendment have replaced that God-given love with hate. They should be ashamed.

It's time we let go of the bigotry and prejudice that blinds us from what really matters. Loving one another and accepting us all for who we are. Imagine how much more we could do with all the time we currently waste by feeding these monsters that need to go away.

I support same sex marriages all the way. My best guy friend is gay. I am bisexual. It does not matter if it is a man or a women or two women or even two men, Love is Love and people should be allowed to express their love by getting married to whom ever they want to.

There's no reason not to have this. The only thing standing in the way is 2000 years of christianity. Marriage is between two people, in a legal cerimony, reguardless of what any religion thinks.

you can't refuse people the right to marriage just because people mainly think it's wrong because of a religious belief...Love has no gender... love has no race...

We are all human. We all should have the same rights. Love is Love. If it doesn't hurt YOU, there should be no reason for people to oppose this. Let people live their own lives, and the people who oppose this, should do the same. How would you feel if you were gay, and you couldn't marry the person you loved? Always put yourself in other people's positions. This is America isnt it? Land of the free, right? So act like it. We all should be free. Especially when it comes to love. This isnt politics, this is the government trying to control the people.
