Recent reports say that 25 percent of all teenage girls in the U.S. have a sexually transmitted disease. This study is just the latest piece of evidence of a nationwide crisis in adolescent reproductive health - and unfortunately, the Bush administration continues to turn a blind eye to the problem. We need to get rid of the current deceptive approach of abstinence-only programs and put in place a federal sex-education program that gives teens the facts - including both the benefits of abstinence and the facts about safe sex and how to prevent the spread of STDs. The Responsible Education About Life (REAL) Act will do just that.

Abstain from supporting "abstinence only" sex ed in our schools. Clearly it does not work.

Too many parents are working too hard because they have too, or have schedules that are crammed, or are loosing their homes---so children loose out on this vital information.

It's a reality that most teenagers are having sex. I did. These kids need information at school because most are afraid to talk with their parents about sex.

Regardless of religious beliefs, every child in the U.S. should receive scientifically supported education about reproduction and responsibility -- at the same time! Sex and sexual activity exists and has never successfully been repressed. So lets protect all children from sexually transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancies by giving them the best scientific information and education that we can provide them.....from kindergarten through high school - every single year.
Please support REAL sex education along with REAL disease and unwanted pregnancy education for all children.

Too many children having babies is only one facet of poor life education classes. The cost to society is reason alone to insist on additional resourses being spent on "sex' education.
