Now is the time to find peaceful solutions to the the standoff over Iran's nuclear program. Opening lines of communication with Iran is the only way to facilitate a non-nuclear resolution - avoiding another nuclear crisis.
The "no negotiation" approach to Iran has not been successful. For nearly 26 years now, the U.S. has had no formal diplomatic dialogue with Iran, even though key governmental bodies in Iran are eager to talk.
Credible sources say preparations are underway for military action against Iran. "Everything is on the table," says the administration - everything, that is, except direct talks.
The war in Iraq taught us about the disastrous costs of reckless and unsustainable military action. We now must bear the consequences of refusing to talk directly to North Korea. But we still have time to change our course with Iran. By openly communicating with those in Iran who want to negotiate, we can avoid another Iraq.
Tell President Bush to take a diplomatic approach with Iranian leaders. Direct negotiations are needed now more than ever!
We signed the “Don't Risk Another Nuclear Showdown: Support Direct Negotiations with Iran Now” petition!

Iran is Not Iraq! It will be worse. They will kill many Americans if you decide to ignore the truth again this time.

Rambo was a movie and shouldn't be used as policy formation. Wake up and open your mouths. We can't possibly fight two wars idiots and it seems to me that at least trying to peacfully resolve this situation makes much more sense than getting into a another fruitless war.

Quit rattling the sword and begin talking with countries that have issues with the US. Enough of this "holier (and mightier) than thou" stance. Negotiation & mediation is the key to world peace.

WELL WELL.... SO NORTH KOREA HAD 1 WMD AT THE START OF THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION AND THEY NOW HAVE AROUND 13 OF THEM. WHAT IS BUSH GOING TO DO NOW? AFTER ALL, HE LIED TO THE AMERICAN PUBLIC TO GO TO WAR AGAINST IRAQ BECAUSE IRAQ "SUPPOSEDLY" HAD WMD'S NORTH KOREA'S EVIL DICTATOR HAS BEEN THROWING SEVERAL TANTRUMS AND TELLING THE WORLD THAT HE HAS THEM. WHY DIDN'T BUSH BOMB NORTH KOREA? NOW IS THE LAST CHANCE TO HAVE DIRECT TALKS WITH IRAN. I AM A VIET NAM COMBAT VETERAN...SOMETHING THAT BUSH, CHENEY, RUMSFELD HEVE NEVER BEEN IN. THEY USED THEIR MONEY, POWER AND INFLUENCE TO KEEP FROM GOING TO WAR IN VIET NAM AND NOW THEY ARE THE FIRST ONES TO START ONE. HOW DARE THEY START THIS USLESS WAR WHICH, IN THE END, BE AS SUCCESSFUL AS THE VIET NAM WAR. JUST A FEW MORE YEARS MR. PRESIDENT! I HAVE TALKED THE TALK AND WALKED THE WALK!!!!!

Because all lives are precious and war is not the answer. President Bush, if you are a Christian in spirit and not just in words during election campaigns, you need to talk directly with Iran's leaders, face to face and avert a war.

Knowing that Bush is not going to respond to this pettition, it may seem pointless to bother to sign it. However, if enough people get on the wagon some of the few honest congress persons and senators that still hold office might take the strength of the citizens of this country and put some major road blocks in Bush's path to world war three and his dream of world conquest.

Iran is not a threat. Tell the truth, this is a ploy to start a war as you did in Irag and it's all about control of oil. Release the minutes of Cheney's secret energy meetings with big oil.
