Tell Congress to Ban BPA From Baby Bottles and Other Products

Potentially harmful chemical bisphenol-A (BPA) is in the blood of 93 percent of Americans aged 6 and older and enters infants through baby bottles. Studies have shown that BPA -- which is used to make plastics such as hard, clear plastic baby bottles -- may lead to breast and prostate cancer, obesity, reproductive system abnormalities and, in infants, developmental problems.
Canada has already banned BPA from baby bottles. The U.S. Congress should do the same, plus more: BPA is also found in items ranging from food packaging and water bottles to dental sealants.
From witnessing the effects of BPA in experiments, scientists believe this is a toxin the government cannot ignore. Congress needs to act to eliminate this potential health threat before it's too late. Tell Congress to ban BPA and any other potentially harmful chemical from products that serve as gateways to our bodies.

We have become so complacent, so concern for our health, our children, and grandchildren health. When these items were produced to make things conventient, we did not know the dangers, but now , now that studies have been done,to show ,what we have been exposing our bodies to over the years,- Ban together- to Ban >>> bisphenol-A , have we lost our caring ,, have we lost our "love for each other?" Maybe it true, it's all about the "money!!!!"

Lousy plastic bottles! They rattle along roadsides, clatter on shopping mall parking lots, and befoul huge areas of the oceans littering the beaches with trash. If humans can't even clean up their messes ( we are more concerned about pooper-scoopers for dogs!) then the least you can do is support the ban on this and any other toxins that those bottles contain. Did YOU stop driving to pick up a bottle from a roadside today?

As a professional chemist, I know that Chinese manufacturers often have two production kines, one for the US, with many more dangerous components used, and one for Europe, with much safer products being made. While we can't expect to act against health threats until they become understood, neither can we ignore these threats once they have become clear. |
