Target:CEOs of world's six largest automakers, DaimlerChrysler, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Nissan, Toyota Sponsored by:The Center for a New American Dream
The need for fuel-efficient cars has never been greater. With just four percent of the world's population, the United States consumes a quarter of global oil consumption; U.S. passenger vehicles alone guzzle 10 percent of the world's oil!
We spent $250 billion on this oil habit last year alone, and as a result we're less secure, more polluted, and economically weaker.
Existing technology such as advanced hybrid engines could dramatically decrease our oil consumption -- if only more automakers would grasp the urgency of the situation and incorporate efficient technology in many more vehicles.
Think about the people, places, and things that would be better off if automakers do their part to help us break our oil dependence and transition to a more sustainable future. Then encapsulate these images into your favorite art form, or just a simple note, and add that to this petition. We'll deliver your comments and images to Detroit and Tokyo. We want Bill Ford, Rick Wagoner, and the other CEOs to truly grasp what's at risk... and to respond.
We signed the “Tell Automakers Why You Want Green Cars Today” petition!

They have the technology , but since they are in bed with the oil companies they see introducing that technology as a monatary loss thus why they are very reluctant to use an atomization/mist fuel injector system (reduces fuel consumption by actually using less fuel to get the same or better combustion in the engine), and they seem to forbid the idea of Hydrogen powered vehicles.

Who doesn't want and need clean, fresh air? Besides, polluting the air is disturbing Mother Nature. Some things in nature are better left untouched. If you bother nature and get her upset, watch out! Her wrath may not be apparent immediately, but it will eventually be implemented. The bottom line is this, disturb the harmony of nature, then be prepared to suffer the consequences, the hard way!

4 percent of the world's population consuming 1/4 of the global oil supply?! We owe it not only to ourselves, but to the rest of the world to do all in our power to live in a green way and to help reverse the effects of global climate change...We need to show the way, we NEED green cars!

Our oil is not going to 'run out', but it IS going to steadily rise in price as the costs of collecting it go up.
The costs will not only be currency.
Oh no, it will also include:
The lives of our armed men & women as wars over oil-rich lands continue.
The rising of carbon in our atmosphere. Which is resulting in - higher global temperatures, melting icecaps, drowning polar bears, flooding cities, the spread of warm-climate plants, animals, insects, and amoebas. Which in turn will spread infectious diseases, kill off local wildlife, overrun local flora, and kill more humans.
Is this ENTIRELY due to Gas fueled vehicles? No. But it is a leading cause to the self-destruct course we are on. It's a place to start, and it's why I want Green vehicles to be in mass production and readily available to everyone, TODAY!
