End Water Poverty!

Every day, 5,000 children under five die from easily prevented diarrheal diseases. Millions more children miss school and millions of adults are kept out of productive work. The cause: 40% of the worlds population lack safe water or sanitation. The vast majority of those affected live on less than $2 a day. They are trapped in a vicious cycle of poverty and disease, that they have little hope of escaping unless the silent crisis in water and sanitation is addressed.
But strong and effective leadership from the next President of the United States can improve the lives of people living in extreme poverty and make progress on global health, the environment, and human rights. Addressing the world's water and sanitation crisis means improvement in all these areas.
Urge the next President to make safe water and sanitation for the world's poor a top priority and promise to direct U.S. foreign assistance to the poor countries that need it, not just to its allies. Sign the petition today!

Water is in use every day but there are many others that drink it regardless of sanitation because that is the way it is provided. I would like to change that because no human being should suffer from poor sanitation in water.

I know that I have been guilty of taking water for granted and I am sure many Americans could admit to just the same. The truth is that we are so fortunate to have safe water at our fingertips. Most have never experienced what it is like not having access to water or being worried that drinking or using water will threaten one's health. As soon as we realize and honestly appreciate how important and necessary safe water and sanitation is for us then we can begin to see how important and necessary it is for everyone on Earth no matter where one lives. We may be different from one another in certain ways but we are ALL alike in that we belong to the human race. Please help all that are a part of the human race to have safe water and sanitation because these are basic necessities and everyone on Earth deserves access to these basic necessities.
