Think your commute is bad now? Add a million more people to the equation and we might have a transportation meltdown! We need a plan that will keep New York City moving, make public transportation faster and more reliable, cut traffic and reduce air pollution and global warming emissions. And now we have that plan: a modified congestion pricing program.
Tell your state legislators to pass congestion pricing and reduce traffic, cut commute times, and fund public transportation across all neighborhoods.
We signed the “Want a Faster, More Reliable Commute?” petition!

I LIVE RIGHT NEXT TO THE 59TH STREET BRIDGE IN LONG ISLAND CITY SO NO ONE NEED CONVINCE ME! I SAY AMEN TO THIS PETITION FOR SURE. I'M TIRED OF ALL THE EXCESSIVE DIRT, GRIME, FUMES, NOISE AND UNNECESSARY TRAFFIC WHEN N.Y.C. HAS OVERLY COMPENSATED IN VARIOUS TYPES OF TRANSPORTATION. ESPECIALLY SINCE WE HAVE TRAINS, DOLLAR VANS AND M.T.A. BUSES GOING EVERYWHERE, WHAT'S THE NEED FOR ALL THESE CARS ANYWAY? SPOILED NEW YORKERS NEED TO GET A GRIP AND START THINKING ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING INSTEAD OF THEIR SELFISH NEEDS THAT ARE KILLING US ALL REALLY. ANYWAY, WITH SO MANY CARS, TAXI'S AND S.U.V.'S WE CAN HARDLY MOVE OR BREATHE!! I HAVE ASTHMA AND DON'T APPRECIATE IT FOR THAT REASON TOO. LET'S WORK TOGETHER, STOP BEING SELFISH AND THINK G R E E N !!!!! / Sincerely & Respectfully, Ms. Victoria Mary Stong / R&B Singer, Humanitarian, Civil Rights, Animal Rights & Community Activist who lost John Charles Jenkins on 9/11 and was a 1st Responder & Ground Zero Volunteer Worker 9/11-11/10/01 at Building # 7 **SEE MY PHOTO ON THE BOTTOM OF THE FRONT PAGE OF WWW.BEADQUILT.ORG SO YOU KNOW THERE'S A REAL HUMAN BEHIND THIS ISSUE!

I visit New York City periodically, always by train and transit. But even trains and subways are getting full, and there need to be more of them, and more tracks for them to run on. So a London-style Congestion Charge for vehicles, which is designed to both discourage car use (thereby reducing congestion), as well as raise needed funds for transit and transportation improvements, should be developed in Manhattan, and perhaps other congested areas in the Tri-State region. I think it is time that road users paid for the costs of accommodating their vehicles, just as we train and transit users have long been paying towards the costs of accommodating us as we travel to and within the city. So please make Manhattan a nicer place to visit, live, and work -- enact a Congestion Pricing Zone!

My wife and I complain all the time that there are not enough HOV lanes to force people to use transit or find riders. No one will have a little inconvienence unless forced to do so. Quit pampering the public. Put so much tax on gas that the petrolium companies won't be walking away with so much and we will have money for mass transit or health care caused by the polution.

reduce automobile traffic in NYC. Funds should be used to increase public transit availability and quality
