Think your commute is bad now? Add a million more people to the equation and we might have a transportation meltdown! We need a plan that will keep New York City moving, make public transportation faster and more reliable, cut traffic and reduce air pollution and global warming emissions. And now we have that plan: a modified congestion pricing program.
Tell your state legislators to pass congestion pricing and reduce traffic, cut commute times, and fund public transportation across all neighborhoods.
We signed the “Want a Faster, More Reliable Commute?” petition!

It is no wonder that Manhattan children always rank highest in Asthma and other environmental caused illnesses. For our children's sake, do something about this.

It's time to finally move away from Robert Moses' model of a New York dominated by cars. Why do we give them parking?! Public transportation is much better for our air, and for our city. Please move in this direction.

I think we need a stronger committment to protect NYC's environment as well as improve transportation. There is always room for improvement.

I am willing to pay an entrance fee to the city when travelling by car, since that will reduce unwise use of private vehicles. I'd love to see more public transportation in other boroughs, where cars are the only options.

I've seen how it's worked successfully in London. I believe a similar system would be effective for NYC - a system that will become popular not unlike the big fear that the smoking ban would ruin income for bars and restaurants.

The congestion in this city is horrible and something needs to be done. I try to bicycle to work as much as possible and it is even difficult to do that because of the traffic and this city is not bicycle friendly.

I live north of the city and don't commute, but I've seen the impact commuting has had on my immediate community. I do, however, travel to the city a few times a year for cultural events and I always use public transportation. I think improving the quality, efficiency and environmental impact of public transportation will entice more commuters to use public transportation and reduce the traffic woos most commuters experience, as wel as improve the quality of living overall in the city.

I suggest that we seriously reconsider the general principle of individual car ownership in the face of declining oil supplies, increasing enviromental damage and brutal congestion. Public transportation must offer an alternative to individual automobile ownership, at the very least for urban residents.

I really do agree with the Congestive Pricing idea. I have heard of it in forgien countries and at first thought is was a bit absurd. However,I feel after the initial shock of it, we spoiled Americans would adapt and our world will survive maybe just that little bit much longer. Peace.
