Think your commute is bad now? Add a million more people to the equation and we might have a transportation meltdown! We need a plan that will keep New York City moving, make public transportation faster and more reliable, cut traffic and reduce air pollution and global warming emissions. And now we have that plan: a modified congestion pricing program.
Tell your state legislators to pass congestion pricing and reduce traffic, cut commute times, and fund public transportation across all neighborhoods.
We signed the “Want a Faster, More Reliable Commute?” petition!

I drive and I support congestion pricing. It will be just what's needed to make drivers such as myself reconsider public transportation over driving. It's not easy kicking the driving habit on ones own.

New York, in no way, is helping Earth with the present day Global Warming it is experiencing. Congestion Pricing, along with doing simple things, such as making a compost in your backyard, or turning the lights off when you leave a room, and greatly help NY, and the entire world, in its goal of stopping Global Warming.

Let's show all the world that we can be advocates for a clean air future. I want my children and grandchildren to inherit an environmentally safer world. We must be an example of pro-active policies regarding our environment.

Prudent thought and action can go a long way in alleviating and eliminating present and future population issues in regard to pollution and climate change. Urban centers such as NY have a large impact on the current global condition and demonstrating meaningful leadership and planning can have a large and dramatic impact on other social centers. So please enact and promote a policy that reduces traffic, funds public transportation, and reduces NY's footprint regarding global climate change.

New York's 5 boroughs are priveleged, in that we are one of the few places in the country where it is NOT necessary to have a car. Of course the transit system could be improved, some areas need more buses, however overall we are a lot better off than elsewhere. NY residents should take advantage of the public transportation that is available. Also keep in mind that if more people are using the system and making their voices heard about what needs to be improved there is more of a chance that it will be done. Power in numbers.

RAPID TRANSIT is the key to a better, cleaner transportation policy. For every dollar spent on roads we should spend $5 on mass transit.

Other than people with handicapped tags, driving in the NYC area should be strongly discouraged, however, the poor subway and bus service and ever rising fares are discouraging people from wanting to use public transportation. Here in Dutchess county, a HUGE influx of people from the city has caused more traffic than I ever could have imagined for this area and we have a horrible public transportation system called the LOOP, which consists of very limited routed buses that SPEW filthy black soot from their tailpipes. NY city and state must do better to encourage people to use public transportation but it must be clean and reliable and cost effective.
