Each year wild bears are killed so that their parts can be sold in Traditional Asian Medicine (TAM) shops in the United States and internationally. In a recent undercover investigation, the World Society for the Protection of Animals found that the trade in intact gallbladders had actually increased since their previous investigation in 2000.
Unfortunately, state laws pertaining to the trade in bear parts are inconsistent and, in some cases, non-existent. The solution is clear: a unifying federal law is the only viable solution for bears! U.S. Representative Raul Grijalva (D-AZ) recently introduced H.R. 5534, the Bear Protection Act of 2008, to protect North American bears. The Act specifically bans the import, export and interstate trade of all bear parts and products, while closing loopholes in existing state laws.
We took action on “Bears Need Our Help! Pass the Bear Protection Act of 2008”

Humans have no rights to take away the lives of creatures such as bears.
People are the worst animals of all animals in this kingdom we live in.

No more illegal trade. Can't we put an end to that once and for all.
We can do so many things, poaching, killing and slaughtering animals should be a priortity. I urge you to stop it.

Animals deserve to be treated respectfully. It is not for man to inflict pain and suffering on defenceless animals.
It has got to stop now.

I ask that you pass the Bear Protection ACT.
It is cruel and unusual punishment to kill our North American Bears for black market hocus pocus potions. Our natural resources and our animals and our widlife are irreplaceable. There is no excuse. I demand that this ACT be passed, and be made law.

Dear Sir/Madam,
My wife and I beg you to protect the USA bears from all harm, please? There is a glut of logical reasons why bears should not be harmed. Mankind should be the protectors of all sentient life, not its destroyer. We humans should not denaturalize Mother Nature's course of action/s. When we do interfere with nature, we are also doing immense damage to ourselves and this unique valuable planet we all share.
Our most sincere thanks.

These bears are treated inhumanely often being kept alive to suffer the torture of being continually strapped onto a table with viscera exposed and tubes drain the gall bladder of bile regularly. These animals are conscious and in pain. I appeal to your humanity to put an end to this abomination.

In my home state of Ky. we have very few bears. Some of the people there and in Tennessee have even gone in to denning mothers and killed them. Of course, their cubs starved to death. So they poached from two to four bears and I think they deserve prison time. Make it illegal and they won't have a market. No money, no bear hunt.
