No Offshore Drilling in Polar Bear Habitat!

It's no secret that polar bears are in trouble. Global warming and habitat loss are driving these majestic animals to the brink of extinction.
Yet even as the government's own scientists have acknowledged these threats, the Bush/Cheney Administration has just announced oil and gas exploration plans that would disturb essential polar bear habitat and fuel America's dependence on fossil fuels that cause global warming.
Sign our petition to urge Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne to delay the planned February 6th sale of oil and gas drilling rights in the Chukchi Sea until the impact on the area's polar bears can be adequately determined.

This action is just another example of human greed and disregard for the wellbeing of others. Please protect the future of the polar bear and the environment. Say "NO" to the sale of offshore drilling leases. How would you ever look your grandchildren in the eye again?

If we continue to damage our earth, we will ultimately kill off our own race. All these little steps are getting us in too rapidly. While killing off the bears may not seem devasting, when it comes to our devastation you may feel differently. While we appear to need oil, there are other ways. We need to move forward with geothermal heating, move forward with solar energy, move forward with research. Funds could be diverted from the war to fund global geo-friendly options. We should be setting the trend here, not being the worst user. Save all POLAR BEARS!!!! God loves those bears as much as God loves mankind. They are special. Please reconsider their demise.
