Last Chance to Improve the Food and Farm Bill!

Dear Congress:

I am writing to ask you to promote healthful food and a healthy environment in the Food and Farm Bill. Negotiations are now underway to resolve differences between the House and Senate versions of this bill, and your input can have a profound influence on this process.

It is critical that you urge your colleagues who are negotiating the final version of the Food and Farm Bill to protect three key provisions that are vital to support modern farming practices that protect our health and the environment. These provisions include:

* assistance to farmers who convert to organic production as part of the Environmental Quality Incentives Program;

* full funding for the Conservation Security Program to reduce environmentally harmful effects of certain agricultural practices; and

* government funding on raising animals with less antibiotic feed additives.
