Is God Green?

Sponsored by: Care2
What would Jesus do to protect the environment and stop global warming?

You don't have to follow a specific religion to believe that God is green. Do you believe it's our spiritual duty as God's shepherds on earth to protect and treat with respect the nonhuman AND human animals and our environment on earth? If you do, sign this petition.

Even people who overwhelmingly voted for President Bush for "moral" reasons oppose the President's stance with regard to the environment. For example, the National Association of Evangelical's VP for Governmental Affairs vehemently opposes the administration's efforts to gut environmental protection laws.

Christian, Jew, Buddist, Hindu, or just spiritual? Whatever your faith, if you think that God means for us to protect the environment, sign this petition. With enough comments, the media and world religious leaders will take note.

I believe it is the moral duty of all people to protect God's creation - our environment
and the animals on this planet, human and nonhuman alike.
We signed the “Is God Green?” petition!

Jesus said it best: "For I was hungry and you gave me no food; I was thirsty and you gave me no drink; I was a stranger, and you did not take me in, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me. Then they also will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?' Then will he answer them, saying, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me." (Matthew 25:42-45) Contained within every evil(greedy profiteering republican) act are the seeds of its own destruction. Adhere to the teachings of Jesus, as contained in The Urantia Book, or else suffer the consequences. It IS that simple. TRUTH has been spoken to power, Peace will prevail. Buck Fush! SUPPORT GLOBAL PEACE AND ECONOMIC STABILITY, AS WELL AS ECOLOGICAL SUSTAINABILITY... IMPEACH BUSH AND CHENEY NOW!

We are supposed to be stewards of the earth and its creatures. Not destroyers.

This is something very odd....Though it seems to be within "bounds" for doing something for others due to the emphasis of Jesus..Greener the better is the land. So have the animals flock to the eateries where they can give off the methane emissions that we can collect also have clean up crews to add the mess to the burnt offerings that create natural gases so we have more freedom..

I agree that we are not perfect, but we have to do our possible to keep our home, Earth and respect all the species... Not just us, the human kind. I think God is definitely Green.

God is definitely green. I don't think he expected this earth and his animals to be treated as they are being my mankind!

Everything green and all of nature's beauty is our gift from God. We should do our best to take care of it.
