Is God Green?

Sponsored by: Care2
What would Jesus do to protect the environment and stop global warming?

You don't have to follow a specific religion to believe that God is green. Do you believe it's our spiritual duty as God's shepherds on earth to protect and treat with respect the nonhuman AND human animals and our environment on earth? If you do, sign this petition.

Even people who overwhelmingly voted for President Bush for "moral" reasons oppose the President's stance with regard to the environment. For example, the National Association of Evangelical's VP for Governmental Affairs vehemently opposes the administration's efforts to gut environmental protection laws.

Christian, Jew, Buddist, Hindu, or just spiritual? Whatever your faith, if you think that God means for us to protect the environment, sign this petition. With enough comments, the media and world religious leaders will take note.

I believe it is the moral duty of all people to protect God's creation - our environment
and the animals on this planet, human and nonhuman alike.
We signed the “Is God Green?” petition!

What is not sacred but the life that supports life? The environment IS us. Religions have too long focused on the transcendent and ignored the divine feminine or sacred immanence. The earth is our Mother. When we destroy her we destroy ourselves...

It's time to quit raping the earth for profit and starting acting as stewards which according to your X-tian/Jewish bible god directed Adam and Eve to be.

As the most evolved species and the only capable of performing acts of gross enviromental degration, it is our sacred responsiblity to protect the earth for all living beings, now and in the future.

for most the green god represents money but for me a green god would live in the hills and valleys of our natural settings that provide for all people the nurture of life itself.

All nature, wildlife, forests and animals are our gifts from God and the Heaven's. They were put here so we would have a beautiful earth. So we should do all we can to preserve that beauty and protect it. Our environment is going down constantly. We need to find better ways and stop destroying our earth.
