Most of us use beauty products every single day, things like tooth paste, shower gel and makeup. How often do you take the time to look at the back of a product to see if it is cruelty free? I believe because we don't see the rabbit in front of us getting their eye injected with chemicals, we naively turn a blind eye to it.
Many brands such as Benefit, Bobbi Brown, MAC, Estee Lauder, Avon, Maybelline, Covergirl, Aveeno, Loreal, Dove, Olay, Elizabeth Arden, Bumble & Bumble, Max Factor and Vaseline to name some, still test on animals. Which I think is disgraceful for 2016, surely all the tests that have been previously done would suffice instead of making more animals suffer.
Many brands sell to China, where they have a cruel legal requirement that any cosmetics brand wanting to sell there must have their products tested on animals. The companies that do test on animals usually have ambigious statements like; 'We do not conduct animal testing on our products or ingredients, nor ask others to test on our behalf, except where required by law'.
I hope within 2016, with the help of all of you, that we will be able to tell these big brand companies, and all the others that also test on animals that not only do we not agree with their poor ethics but show them by signing this petition how many potential consumers they are losing due to their cruelty. Being cruelty free is an option for all of these companies.
Please let's make a change this year and invest in more 'Cruelty Free' products which are readily available (B range by Superdrug, Illamasqua, Urban Decay, Tarte, Barry M and Laura Geller to name a few) to show the big brands how many consumers they're loosing, and let us make animal testing a thing of the past.
