Pass legislation to stop, prevent and ban animal organizations, agencies and shelters from killing healthy animals. Make kill shelters illegal.
The only reason any animal should be euthanized is because of sickness, disease or injury.
All of the bigger agencies are continually asking for donations and if you tour their facilities you will find they have more employees than animals in most. The money should be to help the animals. These facilities can kill an animal in as little as 7 (seven) days. What if your animal got out of your house or yard you may not have the time to find him and work before they kill him? These are things that they never say when they are begging for donations. If an animal is aggressive I guarantee they will kill it in as little time as possible. But if your animal has been around no one but you he will be aggressive in a strange Environment. These agencies should function with a 95 percent volunteer staff. And the money should be used for advertising adoption events and other programs aimed at helping the animals.
We except donations but we also have an on-line store to help raise money, this way people that have pets can help us and their pet at the same time.

And food pantries so seniors and the disabled can afford to provide a home for a pet even though they are on a fixed income this will open up many more homes for needy animals.
